Stoup is a typical taproom for an small brewer in an industrial setting. There's nothing fancy about the place, no decor to speak of, no TVs, just a good friendly place to drink beer. It's kid and dog friendly, and there were quite few kids in particular playing around just outside the taproom, while their parents imbibed. At 7 on a Friday evening, the place was jammed, with around a hundred people in their fairly small space. There's a nice outdoor patio, and a food truck as well. Prices are quite reasonable.
There were seven beers on tap, available in 5 ounce tasters, glasses, or pints. I had a couple of them, the Citra IPA and the Porter, and both demonstrated a lot of care and quality in their brewing. So I'm assuming the other beers match that level of quality, and on that basis, I'd give the place a 4.25 ... not for decor, but for the beer, which is what it's all about.

In the midst of Ballard's brewery epicenter. A tall, small and non-descript, corrugated corner of a block brewery with a little taproom wedged into the front. There are tables out front and a reserved space upstairs, so it is actually larger than first blush. A small wooden bar, a few wooden tables in a modern industrial room. For beer enthusiasts in the greater Seattle area, this is known as an upper echelon brewery. They also sell some canned sours from North Dakota (Drekker) and Portland (Wayfinder), which are not distributed in the greater Seattle area, good move! The favorites were a winter lager and an applewood smoked porter, yum!

Visited today with @jonphisher for a beer after lunch. I've been here before. Today they were doing an Oktoberfest event.
Overall, it's a pretty typical NW brewery -- brewery is open to view, tons of stuff on tap, probably a bigger variety of styles than is really normal. They're fairly large, upstairs and downstairs, outdoors both in front and to the side. Staff always seems to know what they're talking about.
Stoup's one of those under-the-radar places that's not getting a lot of attention, but deserves some.

Good beer served from a garage. Walking up, this brewery is all patio and outdoor space with the center building operating as the brewery and bar. A large commercial garage door opens up to connect the taproom with the patio, with patrons lined up from bar to the garage door for service at the short, two station bar. Indoor has a handful of seats, but not much, with the bulk of the indoor space opening up to reveal the brewery operation. The vibe is heavy industrial, with walls adorned with Stoup labels of past. Outdoor tents offer some protection from the sun until later in the day. Tap list, at least during the time of visit, is predominantly IPAs. While the handful I tried were excellent, the lack of variety may deter some from visiting or enjoying their visit.

this place is downright awesome! i had only ever had one of their beers before rocking up, no expectations at all. they have a great selection of beers on too, tons of hoppy stuff, which is where we spent most of our time, but the list is more diverse than that, and i didnt have a single beer i didnt like, some of the best in the neighborhood, which in a lot of neighborhoods wouldnt be saying much, but i could hit a five iron to like seven other breweries from here, none of which are bad, so its a high compliment here. the space is rad, they have neat beer garden on the lower level, mellow and relaxed, a walk up bar space when you enter, the tanks in the back there, low brow vibe, but the real gem of it all is upstairs, especially the outside seating up there, a balcony that looks to the west over the whole neighborhood, stunning as the sun goes down, perfect place to drink beer. the inside up there is cool too, wooden and mellow, but if you can snag an outside seat its as good as it gets in terms of brewery ambiance if you catch it right! the beer was awesome, i loved a barbe rouge hop focused ipa, a vic secret one, and really everything we drank, no bad beers in here i gather. service was solid, company was killer, beer was lovely, scenery was righteous, highly recommended!

I samples 11 beers. All were above average to excellent. Not much for scenery (industrial section) but everyone was having fun.

One of the bevy of breweries in the Ballard area. Only a few blocks from Reuben's. Lots of folks on a Wednesday afternoon. A great vibe throughout with a decent selection. Stoup is fairly new, but their beers are really good. We shared the Porter, the 4th Nail (Pine Box anniversary beer) and the Chuck's Woodshop Applewood Smoked Porter. All were stellar. Wish we'd had more time to stay. Our waitress was outstanding, explaining the different beers, then carefully wrapping our sample glasses we'd bought. Stoup is a fun, flavorful place. Worth the stop.

This place is one of many breweries and spots within walking distance of one another in Seattle. Dipped in with my dad and had a beer. The outdoor patio is nice and there's a spacious inside. Food truck was present.
Beers are pretty standard and unremarkable, so the biggest appeal is dropping in here along a crawl.

Place is packed
Nice place in Ballard, parking is ok, kid friendly.
There was a short line but it takes time to move.
Overall a good place to hang out.

Very cool brewery. Has a mix of young, old and hipster patrons. In other words, it's the typical Seattle brewery crowd. What counts are the beers though and Stoup has earned its reputation here for a reason. The beers are very high quality
