Local pub and restaurant with a good selection of brews and good food. Brewery open in the back. Pretty good selection of beers brewed on site. Worth a stop if in the area.

I have been going to the Crane Room my whole life. As a child and early teen I loved the food and the vibe they had going. Into my later teen years and early adulthood I started to experience more foods and more places. Ever since my taste for food has matured I have come to realize that all of their food except some burgers are average at best. When they expanded into the beer making world I was interested to see if it was good. Too my surprise I was extremely impressed the first few times I had their IPA. However, after they were open for a little while their quality slowly but surely went down as if they didn’t care about their product since the locals were already hooked. It is rare to get a good IPA there now.

I found this place on the BA app, and it was endorsed by the good people at the Crooked Tongue.

My girlfriend and I entered about 7pm on a Saturday evening. We bellied up to the bar. The bar top was pretty neat. It was glass with old wrenches and tools showcased in it. The bar stools are the most comfortable that I have ever sat in. They were like bar stool lounge chairs. I never wanted to get up.

I ordered a couple beers off their decent selection of draft. I had a Dingleberry and an Oranj. Being the son of a sheep farmer I ordered the lamb sandwich with sweet potato fries. The meal was great. My girl even gave her approval.

This was a good place in a sea of tiny rural towns. I wouldn't make it a destination, but it is a worthy stop if in the area.

Happy to finally see this on beer advocate!!

I had my wedding reception in their New England Banquet Room connected to the restaurant and this place is only 30 min from where I live so I am probably biased. They let me pick pretty much anything that I wanted to have on-tap as long as they could get it. Because I wanted to have something all my guests would like I picked New Holland Dragon's Milk, Troegs Dream Weaver Wheat, then the old stand-bys of Yuengling and Iron City Light (I felt the need to have a macro lager-but at least was a local one!)

Atmosphere- This place is connected to a banquet hall in the back and has 4 distinct areas. The bar area is small and very casual. The feel is industrial but somewhat rustic with a crane hook hanging overhead and variolus pictures of industry around. Everything is wood with the tables having an industrial metal overlay. The dining room, however, is pretty upscale with a chandelier handing down and white tablecloths, and fancy napkins, etc. The back porch is nice an casual with a fake waterfall and gazebo. The banquet room is technically "the new England" and I won't get into describing that- but overall you can cater your own dining experience atmosphere. The bar area can get crowded and loud-but the dining area is usually nice and quiet.

Quality and selection- This place has done a lot over the past 1-2 years to become a viable beer bar in the new castle area. They have 35 beers on tap now with 5-10 dedicated to the BMC and basics such as Sam Adams Boston Lager. Their craft selection is always rotating and they do very well with having a lot of seasonals (with emphasis on local/regional seasonals) to choose from. Yesterday I had Troegs Mad Elf and Sierra Neveda Celebration, while my mom had Penn Nut Roll.

Food- They have basic bar food such as nachos and wings or you can go fancy and get a nice plate meal or steak. Some of my favorite include the French onion soup, Buffalo Shrimp, Bourbon Sirloin, the fries, and the buffalo chicken wrap. Basically- I've been here a lot of times and never had one thing that I didn't like.

Service- They have a price an description of every beer and menu item. No problem getting samples of stuff you want to try or getting your food cooked just how you want it. Everyone is great and friendly. Best overall service of anywhere I've been.

Overall- They are building their beer bar reputation in an area that knows very little about good beer. Their closest competition is arguably one of the best places to buy beer in the country, vintage wine and estate in Boardman OH. This place has a great selection of beers, great service, and the best food.
