This is why I drink pumpkin beers. This is not one of those "imitation" brews that come off the assembly line. This one seems to have been annointed by the beer gods as THE ONE pumpkin brew NOT to miss. I will be buying out our local beer depot and only hope they have enough! What specifically do I like about it? Dry. Flavorful. Mouth is perfect! Aftertaste is excellent. But it's the blend of the spices that is so well balanced, and I like the 28.5 IBU (I'm a hop guy, but too much hops in a beer like this would not be good...) I'm just so happy to find a locally brewed "REAL" pumpkin beer (with real pumpkin, I might add...which of course helps but that's not what makes this such a great experience, or is it??) Oh, and the can it comes is the perfect pumpkin beer can. First of all it's BLACK! The label itself is classic featuring Ichabod Crane in his headless horseman role. There are only two colors on the entire can, black and orange. How awesome is that? Thank you, TW, for restoring my faith in the local craft beer scene! This one is right up there with any of the Imperials out there that are much more expensive and less tasty. GREAT job!

If you enjoy Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Lattés, this probably is not the beer for you. But, if you enjoy roasted pumpkin seeds, this probably is the beer for you.
It has a dark amber appearance, which is a very pleasing fall/autumn aesthetic.
It has a very earthy pumpkin taste to it. Excellent job of capturing the hearty taste of October, without overloading it with sweetness - as most pumpkin beverages tend to do.
This beer goes down pretty good.

after what feels like a long hiatus from drinking pumpkin beers, they have really started to appeal to me again this fall, and while new ones have been a little hard to come by (i think brewers and distributors and retailers all fear these now), i was stoked to try one from tin whiskers, who i have not had any beer from in way too long. this one is a little darker than many, a sturdy amber color with good clarity in the pint and a short off white head that fizzles away slowly. smells like heavy spice, nutmeg and cinnamon and clove, all of which make sense in the style obviously, but to me only seem overdone when they are accompanied by a lot of residual malt sugar, which isnt the case here, so the robust spicing is welcome, at least for my palate. there is a lot of malt body and some richness to it, a toffee and brown sugar character, but its not sugary, which saves it. i dont get much actual pumpkin, i always like to taste a little squash in these, but the mix of spices is nicely proportioned, and it teases pumpkin pie pretty well. fuller and heartier to drink, a little cinnamon left on the tongue after the swallow, and a surprising degree of bitterness, i think from the spice, a note of anise too. cool beer, nothing radical or anything, but something that stands out from the crowd of these well enough. this is begging for a rum barrel...

I had this in a flight at Tin Whiskers last weekend. It pours a dark golden amber. Pumpkin beers aren't my favorite, but this one isn't bad. Bad Weather had a better one, which I had the same day.
