My favorite of St Arnolds year round beers. I have several each time I make my annual Texas trip. Have also sampled numerous times at the Weekly Tours and CD releases.
A solid Amber (what else) leaning towards a brown hue. It foams nicely and leaves a bit of lace, but the head doesn't last very long.
The malt profile is well balanced between sweet and roasty with hints of chocolate and a touch of spice.
The bitterness is satisfying and the middle hops hang in there with a spicy bite that fades slowly until the next swallow.
I frequently have followed with seconds but I must admit the seasonals, if available are more interesting.
Texas' first micro and should be the #1 beer in the Lone Star State.
