Pours an opaque - wait for it - AMBER colour (I know, right?), with little to no head. Kind of the colour of honey.

The nose is fresh, like spring, and a bit florid. Malty and sweet, with a creamy flourish like the caramel I used to get in HS.

The taste follows the nose, with that creamy sweet caramel swirl caught around the biscuity malts. Less hoppy than I expected, mostl just malty and kind of sweet, but it actually works. Kind of refreshing.

highly carbonated with those tiny bubbles that just pierce the whole tongue, but it finishes rather easy considering.

So my first introduction to Saint Arnold was their lawnmower beer and I was disappointed to say the least. So, my expectations were low for this, but I was pleasantly surprised. I like it. It's fairly crisp, give it a try.

This was one of the first craft brews I ever enjoyed, since it is made in Houston and that is my hometown. I have been a big fan of Saint Arnold since day one, and have always enjoyed their offerings. This one, however is a bread and butter staple and a very welcome daily drinker in my beer fridge.

12 oz bottle dated 10-17-13
A: Side pour into a beer mug. Creamy off-white head 1 inch thick. Quickly receding. Sticky lacing. Good carbonation. Bubble sizes from foam to 1/16" of an inch. Brown amber in color.
S: Not very strong. Pale malt base, citrus from hops, a bit of bitterness.
T: Very much like the nose. A bit more hoppy bitterness than in smell. Not very complex.
M: Rather light and crisp and refreshing.
O: Not a very complex beer. Certainly very drinkable and nothing is really off with this beer. Good as a gateway beer for a person new to craft brew.

12 oz bottle poured into a 3 Floyds pint glass

A- almost 1 fingers worth of white bubbly head, dissipates quickly. Allot of bubbles coming up from the bottom. Clear, golden brown/orange color.
S- Not much going on in the aroma. Big malt presence, slight hops, slight sweetness, but pretty bland.
T- Taste is very similar, the hops are a little more present in the taste, but very plain overall.
M- Light mouthfeel, clean finish, refreshing.
O- Not terrible, but nothing special. Would be refreshing in the summer, but does not quite hit the spot in this -6 degree weather.
