golden amber color to it. Lots of carbonation streaking toward the surface throughout the entire session. A very nice three inch high head of white foamy and fizzy lace formed on the top and hung around for a few moments before finally settling down to just a thin film across the top that lasted until the end.

The aroma was loaded down with cereal grains and a touch of light fruity yeast. The aroma of banana clearly evident as was a nice fresh grass like hoppy nose. The flavor followed right along with it, being very light in profile and feel and very highly carbonated. List grain flavors dominated with a nice earthy feel. Hints of banana and fresh grass running through it as well, with a very nice light, refreshing taste.

Pours clear, bright gold with a nice white head that recedes very quickly to a nice foam cap. Lively carbonation for the first few minutes

Dry aroma of a malty base, with a clear twang of noble hops and the slightest hint of honey. Always a nice and unique take on the pilsner aroma.

Hop flavor comes through up front, with a crisp biscuity malt backbone below. Not excessively bitter, very balanced. A good pilsner for someone who miight complain about Urquell being too bitter or sharp.

Smooth and refreshing, with just a little more heft than many lagers. Easy drinking with a great body

Awesome beer, one of my favorite examples of a pilsner, and lagers in general.

Poured from 12oz. bottle into pint-glass.

A- straw colored, golden appearance. 1.5 finger head, and decent lacing. All is right for the style.

S- Very grassy/earthy as well as some malty background very pleasing to the nose.

T- Malty almost corn flavor. I get a taste of hay and bread when I drink this beer.

M- Very good carbonation, leaves the tingle on my tongue, nice for the season.

O- I am biased toward liking St. Arnold. However, I like other S.A. styles better. Average.

Big thanks to cfh64 for this extra.

A- This beer pours a light yellow straw like color with about a 1/4 of white head.

S- The smell is of lemon, grass, and some citrusy notes.

T- The taste is of musty wheat and yeast upfront with a citrusy lemon aftertaste.

M- This beer feels really light in the mouth, almost watery. It has a decent amount of carbonation.

O- Overall this is a pretty decent beer from Saint Arnolds. I could see myself buying a six pack of this to help combat the scorching Oklahoma heat right now. Definently a lawn mower beer. I would have it again.

Saint Arnold Summer Pils has a very thin, white head and a slightly hazy, straw appearance. Some decent lacing is left behind. The aroma is a delightful bready malt, and the taste is a sugary, confectionery sweet, white bread flavor with a mildly bitter hop bite. The mouthfeel is light and watery, and Saint Arnold Summer Pils finishes crisp, clean, and refreshing. Overall, this is a delicious offering from the Saint Arnold Brewing Company.

So, it's summer here in Texas and it's been in the high 90s or over 100 for about the last three or so weeks. What better beer to drink than something light and refreshing? What better to drink than a Texas pilsner? The last Saint Arnold beer I had was their 11th anniversary double IPA and oh boy was it great. I'm expecting to enjoy this one as well.

I poured this into my tall, chilled pilsner glass. It's absolutely clear, a golden-yellow color, and forms a big frothy white head. A lot of bubbles float to the top as the head recedes to a thin film on top. There's a bit of lacing left while drinking.

Summer Pils smells like wheat and grass. I imagine it smelling like being in a field of wheat with an ocean of prairie grass around. For those who have been on a farm you might understand what I'm talking about. It's a tad sweet and nutty as well.

Sweet malts dominate here with a lot of graininess/breadiness that lingers. There's a bit of hoppiness but it's not strong at all. Not very complex with the flavors but I do enjoy the taste.

The mouthfeel is very light but not watery. The higher carbonation adds some bite and makes a crisp beginning but after that it's very smooth. Very drinkable.

While this isn't as hoppy as I'd like it to be for a pilsner, this is still a good beer. This is a damn good beer to choose to drink on a hot summer Texas day.

Poured from a 12oz. glass bottle into a pint glass.

A - Pale straw with a foamy white head that quickly dissipates.

S - Slight hop astringency with a sweet, bready aroma.

T - Starts out with a mild, sweet malt palate but ends with a fairly crisp hop bite.

M - Light-bodied and very drinkable.

O - A good pilsener and a great summer session beer overall.

Poured a nice golden color with white one-finger head that dissipated fairly quickly. Very little grassy aroma. Taste is a bit bready, nutty, and grassy. Mouth feel is good and this has proper carbonation. Had this after Stoudt Pils which is a superior beer and might have influenced my rating. Still, this is a decent Pils that is refreshing. Actually liked this better than the first bottle I tried. Somewhat of a disappointment as every other St. Arnold beer I have had ( Fancy Lawnmower, Winter Stout, Spring Bock, and Divine Reserve) have been way above average.

A: Very pale straw color with good clarity. Decent head that dissapates quickly, some lacing.

S:Faint grassy aroma and malty, not overpowering.

T: Strong malt presence followed bit a small but pleasant noble hop bite. Grassy with maybye a little lemony citrus. Very clean.

M: Good refreshing mouthfeel. Medium carbonation.

O: Not the best pils in the world, but I really like this beer on a hot day. Could easily down a sixer of these. Refreshing with enough taste to keep it interesting. At the price point I will probably make this a regular in my fridge during the texas summer.

On tap at The Friendly Spot, San Antonio, TX, 4.21.11, $4.50 a pint in shaker glass.

Clear gold body, medium carbonation under gleaming bright white body, slow dissipation with good lacing, a nice looking beer. Nose is sweet and dry bready malts, floral hops. Taste mirrors nose. Mouthfeel is medium, crisp and dry finish. The best Texas Pilsener I've had so far.

thanks to optimator13 for this bottle.

A: pours clear light golden yellow with half a finger of rapidly subsiding head. might as well be a still beer if you let it sit for more than 10 seconds.

S: corn. pils malt rather than dms i assume. not much else, perhaps a hint of dirt at the end. one can force floral hops on the after breath, but it is nothing to wait for.

T: hop bitterness, then corny grains. nothing more to report on. hard to pin point the hops, perhaps saaz. a hint of sweetness at the end.

M: light to medium-light body. slick on the tongue and marginally effervescent. not much to write about here.

O: a bit better than bmc b/c of hop bitterness. the smell and body are underwhelming at best. probably a good summer beer, as the title suggests. I'd chug one after mowing the lawn, but that's about it. i'm fairly sure i've over rated this beer.

Clear, straw colored, bright white head. Fizzy.

Aroma was sweet, malty and nutty. Pleasant and crisp.

Taste is nearly the same as the aroma. Sweet, nutty malts, slight herbal hops.

The feel is light, crisp, but creamy. Clean and smooth.

Not bad at all. Very refreshing. Great time of year for this.

The beer pours a clear yellow color with a white head. The aroma is grassy hops with some bready malt. The flavor is hoppy, but the bread/toffee malt make the beer very well balanced. There is some grassyness in the flavor from the hops. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A nice, easy drinking balanced pilsner. Nothing too exciting, but a good beer to drink the hot months.
