when first poured it is jet black. the nose gives off the pumpkin spice with a dash of rum. mouthfeel smooth no harshness. first sip was when the beer was still cold and i picked up the taste of the rum. second sip i allowed it to warm up a bit and i picked up the spices. third sip i've allow it to reach room temp and its full flavor comes through. you must drink it at room temp to truly appreciate this beer if you drink it cold you will not get full enjoyment of it. bravo saint arnold. i truly enjoyed this beer.

Saint Arnold's Bishop's Barrel No. 6 has a thin, beige head, a black, oil-like appearance, with visible bubble streams, under direct sunlight, and essentially no lacing left behind. The aroma is of spices (think of cinnamon and nutmeg), vegetable, rum, vanilla, whipped cream, sweet barley malt, pie crust, molasses cookies, and wood. Taste is of all of those elements, with additional flavors of flaked coconut and white pepper, with some bitterness detected. Mouthfeel is heavy and syrupy, and Saint Arnold's Bishop's Barrel No. 6 finishes semi-dry, heavy, rich, and sip-able. Alcohol is most certainly detected. Profoundly good!
