A- Short lived off-white head recedes to a cap and collar. Body is a burgundy/red. Patchy lacing as the pint get drankened.
S- Sweet caramel notes in the aroma.
T- Tamed (but present) hop bitterness. On the sweeter-side for the style overall. Wouldn't guess this at 6.7%abv.
M- Mouthfeel is on the thicker side for the style. Medium carbonation.
D/O- Drinkability is there, although you'd be feelin' funny after a few. Not too shabby. Thanks for the (relatively) rarer style kojevergas!

12 fl oz brown glass bottle with generic label design and branded black twist-off pressure cap. Bottled 06/26/14.
Expectations are average given the brewery. I always love to see more Steam beers on the market.
No bubble show forms as it's poured.
HEAD: Two fingers wide. OFf-white/pale khaki colour. Decent creaminess, frothiness, and thickness. Average complexion and consistency. Retention is pretty good - about 6-8 minutes.
BODY: Clear translucent gold of average vibrance. Clean; no yeast particulate or hop sediment is visible.
Generally appealing, but not unique or special.
AROMA: Sweet caramalt, toasted malt, pale malt, a hint of zest, a bit of earthiness, and cream. Not finding the unique yeast character/attenuation inherent in the style. It's a pretty underwhelming aroma overall. Mild in strength.
No overt alcohol or other off-notes are detectable.
TASTE: Pale malts, overly sweet caramalt, some floral hop character, a bit of tropical character (papaya, warm tangerine), and noticeable alcohol warmth along with a slightly metallic off-note. It's a subpar build for a steam beer. Overly simple, with no real subtlety or intricacy. Very plain and boring. I'm not a fan of either the choices of malts (too sweet) or hops (too bland).
Imbalanced. Not a big fan of this one.
Average duration and intensity of flavour. Below average depth of flavour.
TEXTURE: Lightly coarse (which doesn't suit it), wet lightly creamy, unrefreshing, medium-bodied, and of average thickness. A bit rough on the palate, dragging across the taste buds.
Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, or harsh.
Overall, this texture isn't a good companion to the taste, and distracts.
OVERALL: A swing and a miss at the Steambier style from Saint Arnold. It's decent, but I wouldn't buy it again - especially with the wide availability of the vastly superior Anchor Steam on store shelves. The discerning drinker will be unimpressed. This one can safely be skipped, but it's downable, sure. Very pedestrian and underwhelming.

Look: Dark amber glass goes a bit brown and holds a full 2 finger head of off white foam. The body shows waves and waves of tiny bubbles that support the head.
Smell: Wet grain, earthy, dusty European style hops, with a light yeasty note.
Taste: Earthy hops with a pear note.
Feel: Surprisingly creamy given the very active carbonation. A bit lively on the palate, a slight chew to the medium body that dries out and encourages the next sip.
Overall: Not a challenging beer at all, easy drinking, flavorful, satisfying. A very Old World beer with a New World twist.

Drank it straight from the brewery taps.
Golden copper color with a thin head.
Nice impressive predominant aroma of Liebfraumilch wine or sweet white grapes, and some I going to the country and eat a lot of peaches. Hints of passion fruit and a mild funkiness and sweat.
Flavor with notes of white wine, slight toasted malts, soap, caramels and peaches.
Light body with appropriate carbonation.
This was really interesting. Lots of white wines and peaches. Well done. Probably it is not faithful to style, maybe that is the reason they are calling it Texas Common. Anyway, I don’t care.
