Art Car IPA is an American IPA featuring a blend of both new and old hop varieties from the Pacific Northwest.

The nose is a blend of apricot and tropical fruit and mango. The taste starts with a big bitter blood orange that morphs into mangos and sweet tropical fruits. There is a lightly sweet malt body that allows the hops to shine while maintaining a nice complexity to the flavors.

Original Gravity: 1.063 (15.5° Plato)
Bitterness: 55 IBU

Malted Barley:
Made with 2-Row Pale, Cara 45 and Carafoam malts.

Hops:
The hops used during the boil - Columbus, Cascade and Simcoe - are reminiscent of the West Coast style and provide pine notes. A generous dry hopping of Amarillo, Simcoe and Mosaic brings out the tropical mango and citrus aromatics.

Yeast:
The use of a special yeast provides a more fruit forward aroma and flavor than the standard Chico yeast commonly used in IPAs.

Can to pint glass. Nothing objectionable, but just a very mediocre IPA, average on every count. Odd floral aroma, almost like something other than hops. Drink this only if nothing else is on offer (and if you're a Houston local, there are plenty of very good IPAs on offer). If you're a St. A diehard, this is probably better than the Elyssa IPA, but then I'm not a fan of that either.

From a 12oz can.

This is a semi-murky pouring beer. Golden in color with amber hues in the beer. The head is a frothy 2 finger white head, with great retention. There's some beautiful sticky looking lacing on the glass.
The nose is somewhat malty, with a lot of grain undertones. There's a bit of hops in the aroma. Somewhat tropical in nature, with a bit of pineapple.
Taste - Grainy and malty up front. Good biscuit flavor. The hops come more in the backside with some tropical notes. Somewhat tropical, faint pineapple. There's also some pine resin flavors in this beer.
Sticky and thick feeling. It coats my throat nicely.
Tasty and delicious. I am liking this beer.

Pours a clear golden color with amber center, thumb sized off-white head, good lacing.

Aroma is light fruity hop notes on a sweet malt base, nothing to exciting going on here.

Taste like the nose nice malt base semi sweet some citrus fruitiness and rind bitterness. Nothing offensive going on but nothing very exciting either.

Mouthfeel is medium lightly peppy carbonation.

Overall not as nice as I was expecting.

Great West Coast IPA. One of my favorites. Not especially high in IBUs but really well balanced. Nice golden color with fine lacing on the glass. I recommend this for anyone that is getting tired of hazy IPAs.

Delicious every time. Fruity with a good dry finish. Goldeny looking. Heavy pop on the tongue throughout. Good even at room temp. The price is right too, less than $10 a sixer.

Pours out a beautiful medium amber color topped off with a thick and dense light tan head that just sits there creating some gorgeous lacing.
Citrus fruits come through nice and clean, lemon zest, grapefruit rind and hints of wheat grass come through followed by a mild earthy smell.
Citrus fruits up front, grapefruit and lemon zest, mildly sweet overall and followed by a nice bitter aftertaste.

This is a medium bodied IPA with plenty of bite! Lots of carbonation and lots of flavor.

Poured from a 12oz can into a Tulip glass.
The beer is medium gold with two fingers of white head. Retention is average.
Aroma is somewhat less than medium. The aroma has apricot, mango, tropical fruit, sweet malt and a slight hop smell.
Taste is medium-high in strength. The flavor has sweet malt that is quickly overwhelmed by a lot of pine hop flavor with a long moderately bitter finish. The mango and tropical fruit tries to make an appearance, but is submerged by the much stronger pine flavor. There is a fair amount of blueberry flavor from the Mosaic hops.
Feel is medium in thickness. It's somewhat creamy. Carbonation is somewhat above medium and astringency is low.
Overall, it's a good beer, but I highly doubt I will buy it again.
