Appearance: Pours a pitch black color with ruby highlights and a rocky tan head that fritters away to a ringlet; fairly good lacing, however
Smell: The booziness of the aroma burns my nostrils if I sniff too deeply, but the pumpkin pie spice is clearly discernable, along with molasses, chocolate and grape soda
Taste: Chocolate, molasses and pumpkin pie, up front, with the high abv adding fusel alcohol by mid-palate; after the swallow, the flavors add a phenolic fruity dimension which tastes a bit like grape soda; plenty of char in the aftertaste, as well
Mouthfeel: Thick and viscous, with relatively low carbonation; plenty of heat and warmth in the gullet
Drinkability: The imperial pumpkin stout concept sounds fascinating, but I am not sure that this one pulls it off very well as the flavors really clash
Thanks, ericandersnavy, for the opportunity
