Very, very light murky translucent khaki beer with a quarter inch of sharp head that collapses and leaves a faint ring, leaving nothing on the glass. Aroma is more clove than banana, but yeast tops all the aromas. Heavy carbonation; soda-like, and sharp.
Flavor is light as the carbonation stings. Flavor of yeast but not bread--green and new tasting. Fresh. Citrusy. Short, dry finish. There is no hop taste: there isn't supposed to be. Lactic-tart.
They report the style as hefeweizen, but this is much closer to the ever-elusive Berliner Weisse. Where's the woodruff syrup? Raspberry? I'm really happy to have a taste as this seems a great match between region and style: hot Texas summers and light, sour beer.
