Drank it straight from the brewery taps.
Slightly hazy golden color with a thick constant head and apparent carbonation. Leaves lots of laces.
Light aroma of banana-bubblegum, wheat malt and very light cloves and herbal hops.
Flavor of this beer was outstanding, maybe because this is completely fresh. Notes of bananas, yeast, orange citrus, mild spices including cloves and mild herbal hops.
Light body with appropriate carbonation.
Interesting that the recipe has the very same ingredients than their Kolsch (fancy lawnmower) but using hefeweizen yeast. And those little guys are sure driving the car.
A highly drinkable Weizen, milder but with a great balance between citrus and banana.

Now i know why they call it weedwacker. Tastes like a fairly decent hefe that was ran through a strainer filled with grass clippings and onion weeds!

Saint Arnold Weedwacker is according to the company website the exact same beer as Saint Arnold Lawnmower Kolsch. Except Hefeweisen Yeast is used instead of the Lager Yeast used in Lawnmower. So this really isn't a wheat, or a wit, or a Hefeweisen. It is tasty though.

I have had this maybe twice over the last decade. Its rarely as available as Lawnmower even here in Houston. And probably with good reason. This is an awkward brew.

Bought fresh from my local Spec's Liquor. Poured overly cold (30°) straight into a standard drinking glass.
Pours an unfiltered, hazy golden hue. Creamy white head that lasted almost until I had finished the whole glass.
Smells slightly grainy and sweet. Faintest hint of spice. Can't tell if its clove or coriander.

Tastes very smooth and crisp. Very light and refreshing. But there is a definite spice characters sneaking around in the background. You get a big swell of spice up front that fades away. Actually at a very very low temperature this beer "swigs" like an AAL or a Kolsch or a Euro Lager. But the spice seems to pop up in the end again. I am not a huge fan of Spiced Wits or Weisse or any of the family of styles. The coriander and clove is not appealing to me. But these tasting notes are mild in this beer.

Overall this is a fine beer. Highly drinkable and very interesting mesh of styles. Not my favourite or something I would drink regularly. But I would not turn it down if offered to me. Looking forward to sampling the other two fine Saint Arnold offerings I bought later this evening. And looking forward to downing the other 5 Weedwackers in my fridge.

Cheers!!! Hail to the Redskins!!!!!!
