The beer comes in a dark brown color.

The aroma is very spicy of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, and then of sweet candied pumpkin.

The flavor follows of mostly spices over the pumpkin. It has big vanilla, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, and then onto a pumpkin sugary sweetness. Tons of dark brown sugar. The stout character comes through with hints of chocolate, but not too much stout character.

A very complex and good drinking pumpkin stout. However the stouts overpower slightly. The beer has a bit much sweetness without the stout and bitterness balancing much. Mouthfeel is a bit light for the style and ABV as well.

Pours black and beautiful with a nice head.

Smell is amazing, spicy pumpkin pie and Christmas, wow.

Taste is full or more awesomeness, brown sugar, apple cider , cloves cinnamon and pumpkin awesomeness.

This is an amazing pumpkin ale, and I don't like pumpkin ale - this is just about perfect for the style, so good!

Poured from 1 pint, 6 oz bottle (bottled 9/27/2013). Review from notes.
Consumed 11/10/2013.

A: Pitch black with small tan head that sticks around.

S: Nutmeg, clove, and allspice.

T: Spices, maybe a little pumpkin, but more of a stout with spice than a pumpkin beer. Dark and smooth.

M: Some carbonation, smooth, but a little fizzy at the end.

O: Greatness. The best pumpkin flavored beer I've had. The spices are prominent, but not too overpowering. The "stout" of the brew is very sneaky in alcohol. Label has no ABV, but I'd guess 8-9%. So glad I was able to track this down. See you again next year!
