The beer pours an orange-amber color with an off-white head. The aroma starts off with some nice orange and pine notes from the IPA, but then I get a little bit of toffee and some spice character. The flavor is similar. The two more prominent flavors are orange and toffee, with some nutmeg and a little bit of cinnamon thrown in for good measure. The hop flavor in the beer is very juicy, but the bitterness is low. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Thanks to injuredreserve for throwing this in as part of our trade, and a good trade it was. A red and mahogany colored beer, off white head. Aroma was mild, slightly hoppy, a tiny bit of hearty malt aroma to it.

After the first sip, I described it as Texas Celebration Ale. Nowhere near as good, but in the same vibe, a big malt decent hopped ipa. The sum is greater than its parts I would say, as I've had the Elissa IPA and was even more underwhelmed by that beer than this one, and I rarely dig on xmas beers.

Nothing that is reinventing the wheel, this is a hearty malt bill ipa that has more toffee than caramel, but doesn't skimp on the hops. Not really a pure American ipa, kind of like a winter warmer on hops, or a brown ipa type of beer. Overall, a good beer.

Big thanks goes out to 67couple for sharing this one during a recent Random Sunday Tasting! Served from bottle into a Mikkeller taster flute. Poured yellow-orange with a half finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, wheat, spice, fruit, earth, and earth hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, wheat, spice, earth, and earth hop. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty average brew. Nothing on this brew really stood out to me. There was quite a bit going on, but it just did not all flow together in unison and rather seemed to clash on your palate. This was really kind of a letdown as the flavors in this one had potential to be quite good if they would have blended well together. Glad I got to try this one, but doubt I would go out of my way to do so again.

6.8% ABV blend of St. Arnold's Elissa IPA and Christmas Ale.

A- Pours a darker copper as compared to the straight Christmas Ale. Sizable off-white head disappears, leaving a thin coating of carbonation bubbles at the top of the snifter.

S- The piney hop smell is predominant but some of the sweetness of the Christmas Ale comes through. Really a better-balanced, more complex aroma.

T- Delicious. The same piney hops, plus the malt, sweetness and cinnamon-y flavor found in the Christmas Ale. It is truly fantastic.

M - This is the one place where it falls of the Christmas Ale. Maybe it's the bitterness of the hops, but the slight alcohol dryness has disappeared and the after-mouthfeel is fairly neutral. Does have a bit more body though.

O- I'd rate it slightly better than the Christmas Ale because of the complexity added by the hops. Central Market was limiting us to a bottle per person, but I'd like to have more ...

Pours out a very nice burnt copper color has a crystal clear body and mild carbonation and is topped off with a nice semi-thick tan head, which slowly dissipates into a thin layer of bubbles. Very good lacing Hops are ever present in the aroma along with grapefruit, lemon peel, coriander and some spices. This has a medium mouth feel-leaning more toward the light end though, it is crisp all around mild citrus flavors come through-lemon grass, grapefruit. It’s slightly bitter over all but goes down easily. The aftertaste gets a bit more aggressive but isn’t hard to handle. Overall a very good IPA.
