Glass Used: Nonic pint

Appearance: Cloudy amber with suspended particles (should have read the descriptive note from SA's site to avoid this). About an inch and a half marshmallow creme colored head. Minimal lacing. The foam dissipated quick leaving a ring around the glass behind. Carbonation trickles up from the bottom in spots.

Smell: Lots of malt, caramel, apple, raisin, hints of what smells like oak and booze.

Taste: Wow, pretty close to the nose. Strong malts and sweet fruits with a soft sweet alcohol and caramel finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium, borderline high-low mouthfeel. A bit of tacky coating lines the mouth after the swallow. Carbonation is very low.

Overall: I find this offering from Saint Arnold pretty damn tasty. I love the malt and caramel sweetness throughout. If I had a chance to score another DR12 I would take it.

Bottle pour at mrbubbler's tasting.

Pours a hazy orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, fruit, and slight smoke aromas. Taste is much the same with fruit and caramel flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earthy bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice caramel and fruit aspect going on.
