On tap at Canyon Creek, along with a bottle of BB 4 to compare in Houston.

A: Pours a pretty uniform dark brown throughout. A two finger beige head forms with good retention and lace.
S: Not much in the nose. Toasted malt, cereal grains, light chocolate. I really can't get much else.
T: Again, toasted malts and grains are a big component here. Some light chocolate, and a bit of fruity esters in the back end. Though I really don't get much.
M/D: A medium body with good carbonation. Fairly smooth and creamy. Easy enough to drink. The alcohol is noticeable, and makes it a slow enough sipper. Though still something I can have more than one if I get the calling.

I do like it. Though I wish the fruity esters were much more prevalent. Maybe this is exactly what the brewers wanted to make, but not particularly what I am looking for in the style.

A: Dark brown to murkey black colored beer in a standard pint glass. It produced a tall 4 finger head with very fine cream colored bubbles.

S: Lots of banana esters mixed with bakers chocolate and clove notes. Wheat and bready malt flavors noticable.

T: Bitterness is very low making the malt sweetness rise to the occasion. The banana and chocolate flavors both come through and mix well with the sweetness. it reminds me of a chocolate covered banana but still tasting like beer.

M: low levels of warming alcohol sensation as its being consumed, but its not tasted. High carbonation with a mild to low body.

O: Thanks to canadianghetto for the growler as an extra! its a style that I've only had one or two examples of and this one stacked up. Not something I could drink on the regular but an occasional weizenboch hits the spot.
