Been here a few times, and always forget to add it to BA. Thanks to Tomlin091744, I think I have met him here before.
Taking the spot of that dump known as Beer Island. The inside is a little more cramped than other Woodrow's around the city, which is to be expected with the space. A bar zig zags along the back. A half covered patio with garage doors. Plenty of TV's. All fine and good, a really chill spot. Especially compared to the Midtown location.
Service is pretty standard, not bad at all. Tell them what you want, and they get it. You don't need much more than that. Though, at times, it can get slow depending on what is going on.
Quality of the taps are always clean, maybe served a little to cold for my tastes, but nothing to really complain about. Selection is a good mix of local Houston and other Texas micros, a few national brands, and Macros. Always some 512, Karbach, Saint Arnold, and usually Live Oak. They will do tap takeovers on occasion as well. A really well rounded selection, and a little for everybody. Lots of bottles as well, the FUN series seems to linger here. Some food trucks will stop here on occasion.
Probably my favorite Little Woodrow's location in Houston. Is it the best beer bar in town, no. Though you can't complain about what they have done here. A good watering hole for me when I am out and about in my neighborhood.
