Off With Your Red is an aggressively hopped red IPA befitting its status as the first release of the Rabbit Hole Brewing “Season of Fear”. The substantial malt backbone establishes the dark ruby/garnet color and supports the significant flavor and aroma additions of American Pacific Northwest hops. The hop nose is bright, resinous, and lingers to the end. At 7.5% ABV and 88 IBUs , Off With Your Red is not to be trifled with; if you do, you may just lose your head. Almost did a 2-can session the other weekend with this. It’s decent. It’s hoppy and there are malts you’d expect to find in a red. The hop bite is the nicest part about it. It is robust, and good sipping outside in weather that isn’t warm. At that, this is not a beer I’d revisit. It seems I wouldn’t have the chance anyway since the brewery lists itself as closing. Maybe the last 6-pack of this I grabbed out the bottle store’s fridge was the last they’ll ever have. Oh well.

12oz can with no canned on or best by date, Bought at the brewery 7-26-19 and opened 8-10-19.
Deep copper/amber color with good clarity and lots of visible carbonation. 1/2" off white head and very good retention at 1/4" solid. Good lacing.
Crystal/caramel malt, grapefruit and pine in the aroma and the flavor. Simple but good.
Medium body and carbonation.
Good.

12 fl oz CAN:
Amber malts. Floral hops. A bit of bitterness in the late second act. Not getting much caramelized flavours or toastiness, which is kind of the point of a red IPA to be fair.
Overcarbonated. Smooth. Wet.
Very generic, forgettable fare. Troegs this is not.

Looks like coffee, smells like sweetened ice coffee. A rich flavor pallette with coffee, toffee, hops and toasted malt. Tastes a lot like a black lager. Bitter and sweet with a medium carbination and a hint of warm alcohol. Heavier than most English brown ales I've had. Not my favorite style, but has flavor to spare.

Red IPAs are one of my favorites and it’s a good one. Rich brownish red color with a good beige head and nice lacing. Fragrant citrus smell. Taste includes candied orange, dart toast and malty caramel. Nice smooth feel.

Pour reveals a mahogany-hued beer that is nearly clear, with a tan head. Aromas are heavy pine and citrus, with a heavy dose of caramalt.
The taste follows the nose, with the resiny pine hop flavors and the caramalt really elevating this a notch or three. If you look up "red IPA" in the beer nerd dictionary, there's a picture of this beer.
