Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz bottle poured into a snifter.
The beer pours a rich mahogany color with some garnet highlights on the edges when held up to the light. The color is darker than anticipated and actually has me more excited for the beer.
A frothy eggshell white head foams up .5 cm and fades to an edge layer pretty quickly after the pour.
The aroma is rich malt with toffee and brown sugar and some spicy hits as well. Light yeast notes and a little bit of dark fruit.
NO hints of the booze on the nose.
The first sip reveals an average body with very fine tingly carbonation. Texture is smooth and silky and coats my palate nicely after each sip.
Flavor is malty brown sugar and some spicy notes. Some dark fruit, with plums and raisin mixed in and then the finish dries out.
I do get just a little herbal tea hop note on the finish and just the faintest hit of peppery booze.
But this is a sweeter malt forward beer that is very enjoyable as I finish the bottle pretty quickly.
This is worth a shot and is interesting and not too complex.

A- A reddish amber color that is clear. really no head and minimal lacing.
S- Vinegar malts and roasted nuts. I get some sugary hints as well maybe molasses. Smell is very inviting.
F- dark chocolate roasted malts dominate the mouth. molasses or some sort of dark candied sugar fruit. I cant put my tongue on it.
M- malty and creamy. It gets to be struggle as you get closer to the bottom. The malts tend to over dominate.
O- not a bad brew but not sure I would have it at a bar. It is worth a try but nothing more.
