Flying Fish ESB pours an amber color with a white, one-finger, head. The head fades away and does not last for the glass of beer. The smell is malty with a few notes of mid-range crystal malts that impart a caramel nose. The hop character is light and earthy. The taste follows the smell quite accurately; the up-front taste is a great malt backbone with a sweet aftertaste. The hops are just enough to balance the malts and do not add much character of their own to this ESB. The mouthfeel is clean and light and does not leave an unpleasant aftertaste. Flying Fish ESB is very drinkable as it does not leave you feeling full or bloated and does not have any off flavors to tire you of the brew. Cheers!
