Appearance - Poured from 12 oz. bottle into Pint glass. Comes out a lovely copper hue, so light I can read through the glass (even if it is just junk mail). I get about two fingers of frothy head that disapates pretty quickly, but doesn't disappear.
Smell - A citrus/hops aroma, with a hint of bread underneath. Slight floral undertones.
Taste - Almost all malt, but that's what I want when I go for this. Very bready taste with a small flavor profile. This is a thirst quencher all the way.
Mouthfeel - Not a big mouth presence, but I think it's brewed for that. Feels like club soda in the mouth.
Drinkability - I could put this on my cereal in the morning.
Overall - This doesn't fit into the beer geek hop-stravaganza, big beer, high abv clique, but it's a good beer. Refreshing and delicious.

DATE TASTED: May 4, 2014... GLASSWARE: Howard's Pub pint... OCCASION: toilet--replaced; lawn--cut; bathroom--painted = beer time!... APPEARANCE: creamy white head that attractively flairs; dark golden straw-colored, evenly effervescent body; drains evenly... AROMA: vibrant citric (mostly orange with some melon and pear as well) and floral notes with some light caramel malts--accessible and intriguing... PALATE: soft, lagerish body,, equally creamy and thinly taut--sessionable and perfectly at home...TASTE: Flying Fish continues to leave me a happy consumer, as this pale ale a strong profile fits within the genre well and yet is memorable enough to e sought again--maybe not at the bottle shop, but in a restaurant or bar...
