A: A murky yellow with a nice fluffy white head of 1.5 fingers that settles down into a good lace.
S: Wonderful hop flavor, a touch of sweetness like honey. There's some definite lemon as well in the background. Refreshing - I can't wait to try this.
T: Lemony hops are the first flavor, followed by a great bread flavor - tastes like it just came out of the oven. After swallowing, moderate hops and a little more lemon, then some fruitiness. Not exactly what I was expecting from an "extra pale ale," but still decent. It's lacking flavor - needs more hops. I might be biased from hitting the Arrogant Bastard ale so much, though.
M: Medium-bodied, perfect carbonation, no astringency. I was expecting puckering from the hops, but it was lacking in that department. It's a little watery, though.
D: Drinks like a charm, and is definitely refreshing. Would be a good buddy on a hot day.

DATE TASTED: May 4, 2014... GLASSWARE: Howard's Pub pint... OCCASION: toilet--replaced; lawn--cut; bathroom--painted = beer time!... APPEARANCE: creamy white head that attractively flairs; dark golden straw-colored, evenly effervescent body; drains evenly... AROMA: vibrant citric (mostly orange with some melon and pear as well) and floral notes with some light caramel malts--accessible and intriguing... PALATE: soft, lagerish body,, equally creamy and thinly taut--sessionable and perfectly at home...TASTE: Flying Fish continues to leave me a happy consumer, as this pale ale a strong profile fits within the genre well and yet is memorable enough to e sought again--maybe not at the bottle shop, but in a restaurant or bar...
