Served in a Flying Fish tulip. This Saison poured a surprisingly clear dark gold. Smallish off white head of dense bubbles that raised about one half inch before sudsing away. Little to no lace, but a blanket of bubbles with each sip that fades with barely a trace.
There are some herbal earthy notes in the nose. Paired with a definite hop spiciness.
Very strait forward taste. Spicy and herbal hops. A definite citrus rind tang. Faint fruit undertones, particularly apricot and sour peach, which ends with a grainy slightly dry finish.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied. Some carbonation bite. Clean on the palate, drinkable. No overwhelming flavors here, yet enough to keep you interested. Very sessionable brew.
