We really need more oyster stouts. Used to love Yard's Love Stout and this is a great homage to the Delaware Bay and was inspired by Love Stout.

Lots of licorice and coffee in the taste. Very smooth. Others have reported a metallic taste. I think I spotted it, but I wouldn't have if someone hadn't mention something. Honestly, it blends very easily with the licorice flavor.

Drank most of the bottle myself, so I guess that would make it quite drinkable.

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip pint.

Appearance
Black with some light penetration along the edges. Has 1 finger of brown head that dissipates quickly.

Nose
Semi-sweet chocolate, cocoa, and roasted barley. Lighter notes of espresso and brine.

Taste
Semi-sweet chocolate and roasted barley. Lighter notes of milk chocolate, raisin, and dark roasted coffee. Hints of caramel and brine.

Mouthfeel
Medium-plus bodied, smooth, and silky while remaining crisp with carbonation.

Overall
Very tasty Oyster Stout. Solid all around. You go, NJ!

A - 4.25 - I never really knock a beer for appearance, I guess it's because I'm used to my homebrew, which is pretty hazy. This is a dark brown-black beer with a nice brown head on it that leaves great lacing in my Magic Hat #9 pint glass. :)
S - 4.0 - Coffee, chocolate, vanilla, smokiness.
T - 4.0 - Smoke, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, some oak barrel (?), salty flavors, red wine. It's an interesting mix of flavors that I haven't really had before in a stout.
M - 4.0 - Medium-thick mouthfeel. Alc is covered. Aftertaste is smokey, salty, roasted malts.
O - 4.0 - I like this beer, it's a nice change up from all the coffee stouts/porters, and russian imperial stouts/BA RIS's that are so popular now. They used the oysters in the boil which they said gives the beer a nice dryness.

A- pitch black with a cola rim. Tan head which fades to a ring rather quickly, but leaves excellent lacing.

S- cocoa, coffee, alcohol, smoky.

T- cocoa, acidic coffee. The finish is dry, salty, and smoky.

M- light bodied, active carbonation.

O- strange, briny, smoky, weird.
