Poured into a pint glass from a bomber with a nice medium mocha head with nice whispy lacing on the glass.

I pick up some vanillaish aromas in the nose as well dark malts. The flavor is very nice stoutish chocolate and dark malts with a nice medium+ mouthfeel, It finishes easy on the tongue and throat with a semi creamy ending.

This to me is a Great Stout. I've fallen in love with Stouts and Porters this winter past, and even though this is warm (80 degree) mid April day, this is still a fantastic sipper. My hats off to Flying Dog for a great representation of this style of malted bev. ^5

Poured from a 750 bottle into a snifter glass. This is probably 9 months old or so.

A: A deep black color that is thick and non light filtering. A one finger light brown head sits atop the liquid and fades quickly.

S: Chocolate and cocoa mix with the roasted notes to bring out a sweetness on the nose.

T: Loads of milk chocolate and cocoa flavors mix with some roasted flavors up front that melt into some caramel and toffee notes. Some slight woody tones mix with the roasted notes to finish out the beer. Sweetness lingers.

M: Medium, no traces of alcohol but just missing something.

O: Not a bad beer, but not overly complex and actually a little boring. I'd drink it again, but I wouldn't go looking for it.

Overall I love most of the Exit series. One or two have been clunkers, most have been winners and then there is this beer that sits squarely in between.

Pours a sexy opaque black with very, very thin tan head. Nose teases with what would lead me to think a rather sweet milk chocolate. On the palate though, the chocolate is there but more bitter (good way) and a nice roasty character that takes center stage. Roasty malts carry into the finish. Touch of oatmeal. Easy drinking for the ABV.
