Enjoyed this 750ml bottle out of a large snifter glass.

A: Pours a very cloudy orange hue with a thin, white, 1-finger head that quickly dissipates into a wispy lace leaving a nice trail down the slide of the glass.

S: Malty hoppy aroma with hints of caramel.

T: Equal mix of malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness. Nice caramel background with hints of bread/biscuits and brown sugar.

M: Very strong and boozy. Thick body and medium carbonation.

O: Interesting brew – not my favorite EXIT but definitely worthy of a try.

Really great.. walks a fine line between typically IIPA and their invented definition as a scarlet ale in honor of RU. Should be made available year round at every bar in N.B., sad, though, that they dulled it down a bit for their "red fish" offering..

[Best served in a Snifter]

The pour was a murky medium red with strong brown highlights and an average sized (1-2 finger) off white rocky head, which lasted a decent duration before reducing to a thin cap with a large collar creating some really good streaks of sticky lacing.

The aroma was of a bread malt, a mild grassy hop and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, citrus (orange) and dark fruit (plums and raisins).

The taste was moderately sweet and malty and had hints of caramel, citrus and brown sugar from the onset with the taste becoming a little bitter sweet with a note of dark fruit a big alcohol ending. The flavor lasted a nice long time after the swallow with a good fruity alcohol finish.

Mouthfeel was just below medium in body with a slightly dry, syrupy texture and a medium carbonation.

Overall a powerfully strong tasting brew with a lot sweet fruity flavor and a big dose of alcohol, which was hardly noticeable in the aroma...

A: Nice 2 finger eggshell colored head of all tight creamy bubbles. Laces exceptionally well on all sides of the glass. Orange to slight amber in color. Hazy but light shines through. Not clear. Carbonation bubbles evident.

S: Pine, citrus, grapefruit, lemon, orange, tangerine, spicy and herbal hop notes. Great.

T: Caramel, toffee, pine, citrus, sweetness, sugar, assertive hop bitterness, herbal and spicy.

M: Sweet. Almost too much. Carbonation is good and body is medium. Some alcohol.

O: This is one of the most hop forward beers from Flying Fish I've had. Really nice addition to their portfolio. I also like that it's all American. No Belgian influences like most of their beers. Really aggressively hopped with a bitterness that lingers. Really tasty. Alcohol and sweet notes detract the beer slightly from being stellar.
