Amber color, not as dark or red as I expected. Hazey with a very fine white lace, in a smaller head that dissipated faster than I wanted. Hoppy with a semi sweet taste. Very aromatic, a sweet citrus hops that you'd expect more in a Belgium Ale. Overall, a very enjoyable beer. Highly recommend.

Pours a reddish brown with smallish head and lace patches on top of a nicely mixed aroma of grassy, citric hops (even soapy) and a large bread malt base (barely any caramel malt). The beer is smooth and sweet upon first sip, with a strong caramel/sugar sweet malt rush. Then the hops take over as a citric/spicy zest, real sharp - less citric, hint of tropical. Finishes crisp and for some reason a little sticky, and heated as well thanks to large ABV. Not completely balanced as more hoppy than sweet but not a complaint; good beer to sip on b/c the alcoholo sneaks up on you.

750 capped into tulip. sharing with my lady.

A: a bit of haze in this brew that i would call orange, not red. reddish white head with decent retention and sticky lacing.

S: a really sweet, sugary malt is competing with an equally intense hopping for supremacy of the nose. a little bit of butterscotch. chalky bitterness. touch of heat.

T: flavor starts with caramel and marshmallows. the meat of the body is similar to the nose, a battle between sweet malt and big sticky piney american hops. i think the malt actually wins this battle. enough hop presence to keep things in balance and to keep this from turning into a big scottish or even a mild english barleywine. very flavorful.

M: tiny carbonation bubbles work perfectly with this big bodied brew.

D: im glad i let this one sit tight for a while. there was just a touch of heat on one sip, but i may have just been being picky. solid brew from flying fish and solid exit series release.

Tasted last year - reviewed from notes that were lost and recently found:

Pours dark amber with a tan head that quickly descends to a thin, wispy covering. Some dots of lacing stick.

The smell is very hoppy - a blend of citrus (especially tangerine), tropical fruits (especially pineapple), and mild black pepper.

The taste is spicy - peppery with tropical and citrus fruits. "Red" maltiness is there but stays in the background enough to let the juicy hops come through. It has a kiss of sweetness in the otherwise dry finish.

For the abv, it could be heftier, but works well enough. The alcohol is covered reasonably well.

This sure is a juicy, hoppy red ale - well-made and enjoyable!

Shared out of 22oz bottle.

Nice hoppy and bitterness in a red ale and in line with my palette. Not sweet, not overpowering. A tates that could be enjoyed for tasting or throwing back a six.

A find that most of these Flying Fish beers are good. This is one of them.

a - hazy brownish orange pour, somewhat rusty in color with a decent sandy colored head created

s - a quick hoppy release, pungent citrus notes, with a nice malt background

t - rusty and coppery in a good way... hops jump on your tongue and roll around.... alcohol noticeable as it lingers through the hop and citrus notes that are abound

m - medium bodied active beer

o - a pretty good beer and another of the Enjoyable Exit series...

A: Pours a very hazy dark golden orange color that’s completely opaque with tangerine hues and a half finger white head that immediately fades into a very thin ring. Not much in the way of lacing.

S: Spicy hop aroma with lots of earthy notes and citrus fruit as well as a prominent malt presence. Hints of pine needle, orange peel and grapefruit with some caramel, toffee and biscuit.

T: Medium bodied but on the fuller end with a blast of dry sticky hops up front providing a lingering bitterness that dominates the flavor. Lots of earthy pine and resinous oils along with subtle fruit notes. Not as tropical or citrusy as aroma suggest. More spicy and bitter with a decent malt backbone. Hints of caramel, nut, toffee and biscuit.

O: Malts become more prominent as it warns providing subtle balance but it’s a hop monster first and foremost. Strong alcohol heat in the finish but abv is decently masked at 9%.
