on tap at khyber in philly
Pours a slightly hazed reddish color with some cherry and orange hues. Beige head rests on top with some filmy retention, leaving patchy lacing on the glass.
Pretty punchy hoppy nose with a nice dosage of pine and citrus fruit. Some bready, malty sweetness with a hint of dark fruit. Faint notion of alcohol.
Bitter and juicy up front with some piny notes. A bit sticky and resiny with a touch of grapefruit and citrus peel. Sweeter malt base creeps in with a touch of cherry and dark fruit. Bready with caramel. Finishes bitter and a little warm.
Medium body, decent carbonation, sticky and lingering on the tongue. This is better than many of the typical Flying Fish offerings - slightly abrasive but still something I'd drink again.
Serving type: on-tap
