Forever Unloved Sandy was brewed as a fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts. So far, we’ve donated $75,000 to a variety of local organizations throughout the state to help with the recovery. Think of Sandy as wheat pale ale. It’s hopped with experimental hop ADHA 483, donated by the American Dwarf Hop Association, which has never been used in a beer before this one. Expect a beautiful nose of mangoes, peaches and guavas that will accentuate the beer’s soft mouthfeel and contribute to a truly one-of-a-kind ale.

750 into Duvel glass.
Large, fluffy white head that slowly cascades down to a slightly cloudy, but overall bright golden body. Carbonation flowing up nicely. Lots of lacing.
Juicy, hoppy aromas. Fresh. Lots of sweetness - dare I say maple syrup? Apricots... like a can of apricot pie mix, if there was such a thing. Not overly wheaty. Light spice keeps it curious.
Sweetness continues into the flavor - this may be a turnoff for some who are style freaks. Syrupy mouthfeel for the style... almost like an imperial version, but I like it that way. But overall, it's pretty easy drinkin' relative to most craft beers. Flavors pounce with tree & tropical fruits, most especially peach, pineapple, and apricot. Good yeast quality ... leaves a nice light-spice afterglow.
Delicious, full bodied, and yet still a perfect flavor for summer. Really, really interesting beer relative to other bland American Hefe-copy-cats in this category.

Appearance: Pours a hazy honey color capped by a two-fingered head; decent lacing action
Smell: Bready, with guava and a hint of pith
Taste: Bready on the base, with some guava and lemon elements building; a bit more pithy through the middle, but the finish is rather mild
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: One of those beers that lingered so long in my cellar I forgot it was there - likely an extra from a trade long ago; clearly past its prime but I tried to make up for that in the review

Nothing there. Not impressed. Perhaps a good summertime beer, but not my thing.

11/3..pours hazy yellowed gold with white foam ringing. Wheaty tropical fruit nose. A little sweet. Taste is a light wheat ale, fruity, followed by a latent hop bitter that never quite comes out. Good beer, good cause.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some notes of wheat. Taste is tart, lemons, wheat, light hops. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Like this beer a lot. Nice hoppy spiced thing going on. Great fruit tones. Extremely easy to drink. Too bad I only got one.
