I'll go ahead and do the hack thing and write about my sandy experience. I can not complain all that much as I only lost power for a week but the most surreal thing that was most likely under reported (and totally surreal) was the gas lines... forget cars (like setting my alarm for 3am to go and get gas)... the human gas lines... hundreds deep holding gas cans and cars strewn all over the damn place on the parkway and somewhat on the turnpike, it was something I will never forget aside of course from all the physical/flood damage not to far from me and locally. anyway, to the beer, I hope it knocks my power out...
2 full fingers of tide hitting the beach sounding foam, craggy rock like foam formations, super clear straw color with just a hint of orange, pretty good streams of carbonation (maybe only a cat 2 in that department), the head fizzles out pretty quickly, not very inspiring here
an interesting mix of brown herbal euro type hop with strong tropical notes, subtle hints of pine are scurrying around in there as well, there is also a lemony effervescence present, nice
fruity with a lemony finish, mild bittering with a smooth finish, delightful carbonation (really keeps it light and easy drinking), medium body that satisfies but does not weigh you down, not delicious but devilishly tasty, it has just enough of everything, a great brew to sit outside on the deck on an august night... er, like tonight! the ABV has a nice little kick also, this does sort of remind me of exit 16 a little, but that is not a bad thing at all, nice brew!
wheat pale ale ? ... to me this is like a pale ale with that nice crisp refreshing bite of a wheat without the wheat flavor, it retains the hop character of an APA but has more of a wheat pop, a nice combo, well played

Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a weizen glass.
Appearance: Pours a relatively large head with an average pour. Not much retention but lacing is nice. Nice pale golden wheat look to it. Really nice looking beer.
Smell: Another hoppy example from Flying Fish, this almost reminds me of a timid Exit 16 on the nose. Still has that big melon/grapefruit/papaya nose that I love with a little more subtlety.
Taste: Exactly what I want from a pale wheat. Hops up front with a subtle hop bitterness. Easy drinking for down the shore. This reminds me of summer. Mild bitterness but a very balanced hop flavor to finish
Overall, I hope they continue to bottle this, I'll be buying it up as much as possible.

- Brewed with experimental hop ADHA 483.
A: Translucent light orange has both a heavy haze and heavy dose of effervesce. A well formed 2+ finger dairy cream colored head is lengthy and stronger then the storm (for all you n.j. folks just as tired of hearing this commercial as i am).
S: The nose was interesting, tropcial, green melon, pear with a hint of soft tangerine tartness. Lightly musky citrus scent with a strong diversity and soft mellowing delivery.
T: Flavor was green melon, sliced pear, passion fruit, with a light muskiness of citrus and a dry sense of tangerine-citrus wheat coming on the close. Semi-dry tropical fruitiness, some yeastiness sneaks in, bubblegum highlights, dry fruit, pineapple, dash of white pepper with a tart musky citrus flowery bite at the beers finish.
M: crisp and lively, good feel of carbonation, body was light-medium, with a mineral feel and a warmth of citrus fruit off the tongue.
O: Overall crisp, refreshing, nice use of experimental hop with a different sense of aroma and flavor other then west coast traits. Definitly worth the price of admission, with % going to to storm relief is always a good cause and reason to drink more. F.U. Sandy is a nice tribute to those affected and nice final word of retribution to those recovering still. Drink up.

Bottle: Poured a dirty golden color ale with a relatively large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of nice wheat malt with some grassy hops notes and some light bubble-gum notes. Taste is dominated by really nice wheat malt with some light grassy hoppy notes with some light bubble-gum notes. Body is quite full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Very enjoyable wheat ale – brewer should not keep this one as a one-off.
