ACBF pour

A-Pours a dull, dark orange with almost no head; granted its a two oz. pour so who knows.

S-Fairly mellow. Doesn't really smell like it's going to be sour or funky. It smells grapefruity and slightly earthy.

T-Nevermind, this is a tart, sour beer for sure. Not really funky but puckeringly sour. Like sucking the flesh off an unripened grapefruit.

M-Sour but refreshing and natural tasting. Light bodied. The tartness stays on the lips.

O-One of the most memorable beers of the ACBF. The nose wasn't much to talk about but the flavor was far, far better. I really like this one.

Poured from the bottle (1 pint, 9 fl oz.) into a tulip wine glass. This is after I popped it open and beer spewed out and onto my floor. Not cool.

Dark brown/amber body with a look like a dubbel or quad, perhaps. Minimal head. A lily pad of film/lace over the body. Faint carbonation. 4.25

Smells raisiny, of plums, and sweet caramel/bread, as well as red wine. Kind of get vanilla and oak as well. Pretty nice, if unexpected aromas for most sours, except an Oud Bruin. 4

Interesting. Definitely get a dubbel- or quad-like floral, malty, raisiny, caramel flavor still and the flavor does contain some sweetness, but this meets a vinous, faintest of faint vinegar and sort of barrel flavor. The finish offers some tart, unripened cherry flavor. The flavor to me is red wine meets Belgian dubbel. 4

Very full to the mouth initially, like when blowing up a balloon and air blasts backward, then enters the tartness and vinous quality, soda-like carbonation, and a dry, kind of flat exit. A tad watery too. 3.5

This has some real appeal to the wine drinker. The dark Belgian qualities meeting red wine are new to me and mostly work, so ultimately this is enjoyable.

375ml capped bottle into Night Shift stemware. Shared by schen9303.

Pours a foamy, .5 finger light cream colored head with moderate retention. Beer is a clear strawberry bronze. Lacing is stringy and spotty with good stick. A really pretty beer.

Nose is excessively juicy. Hints of red berries. Seedy, lightly tart, with a hint of sweet vinegar and cane sugar. Nice. Pretty aromatic too.

Opens berry tartness. Juicy in the mouth with a touch of vinegar and a light saltiness. More strawberry and raspberry seediness in the middle with a hay and oaky funk towards the end. Sweet vinegar and a light berry in the aftertaste. Decent but muted and the vinegar and light brineniness are a little weird.

Light bodied with moderate to low carbonation. Pretty flat and oily in the mouth and goes down smooth with a bit of pucker. Messy finish with a lingering, filmy aftertaste. Decent.

Like Plum and Proper on Brett, this beer has potential but its not quite there yet. The vinegar is prominent and covers the fruit tart profile and the carbonation is a bit low. Solid and I hope these guys are heading in the right direction.

Thin head dropped quickly, amber color with distinct red highlights. The nose is fruity with cherry, apricot and noticeable sour character, and tiny bit of earthy funk. Taste is strongly fruity with a very clean bright sour, light malt and an interesting earthy, tannic-like finish. Clean and assertive sour, no acetic/ vinegar flavors, and just a little bit of strange way in the background to add intrigue.

A: The beer is clear dark orange amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin head that quickly died down, leaving only a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of sourness are present in the nose along with slight hints of cherries.
T: Much like the smell, the taste is a little sour and has hints of balsamic vinegar and grapes.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little tart on the palate with a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer was very easy to drink and is sessionable—it has a low alcohol content and isn't really that sour. It would make for a good summer beer.
