A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip nice darker brown hue with a thin snow white head that faded to leave light wisps and a thin halo.
S - Aromas of light fruity plums, nice light sour dark malts to work with the plum. Light smoke, light vanilla, as its smokier when it warms.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, nice darker fruits, darker malts, nice acid, the finish really ruins the beer the more I drink it. Lots of smoke and ash.
M - Mouthfeel is brightly carbonated, The finish is really ash heavy though.
O - Overall this beer was a jumbled mess. I like what they tried to do, but, the base beer was just the wrong choice. Loads of ash just ruined this.

Little fizzy head fades at fair pace, light foamy lacing, very dark pretty much black color.
Nose is interesting, a blend of sour dark malts, tart funk, lacto creamy funk, acidic notes, some sweet candied plum and dark fruit, grown sugar like I think, faint smokey tobacco, touch of vanilla.
Taste brings tart funk, dark sour malt notes, lacto creamy sour, nice dark plum fruit, sticky candied fruit, little smoke and tobacco thing, tart acidic funk, sticky candy malt. Finish mild bitterness, sticky acidic flemmy funk, ash and tobacco smoke, earthy, little candied plum and lacto sour funk.
Mouth is med bod, syrupy little flemmy tart acidic, nice carb.
Overall it's ok, started decent with nice plum fruit etc, then got bad hard to get past the ash smoke tobacco thing, not so tasty.

Chose something from a brewery that I truly enjoyed for my 500th "tick".
A- Poured from a larger than pint sized bottle into a tulip glass, remarkably dark with greater effervescence feeding a ring of bubbles around the glass.
S- Not overpowering but a pleasant fruit presence.
T- Well rounded sour, dark fruit and wine barrel coming through. Not too strong on the sour but enough to be noticed.
M- Crisp is the operative word, brings you back for the next sip.
O- Finback Brewery is a great place to sit and sample beers and an all around damn good brewery. This sour is complex and easy drinking at the same time.

500ml capped bottle into Tired Hands stemware. Shared by schen9303.
Pours a .25 finger light cream colored head with good retention. Beer is a dark, clear purple. Lacing is minimal. Pretty nice. Great color.
Nose has huge Brett notes. Hints of vinegar, soy sauce, plum and prune juice. Tart and acidic and very aromatic.
Opens plum, soy sauce and vinegar. Juicy and fruity in the middle with a nice Brett funk and ample tartness. A light bit of smokiness mixed with some more dark vinegar and roast too. Ends roasty, sweet and juicy with the same aftertaste. Nice complexity but I'm a little ambivalent about this one.
Light to medium bodied with ample carbonation. Foamy and juicy in the mouth and goes down filmy. Finishes messy with a lingering, dry aftertaste. Really appropriate. Enhances the flavor nicely.
My first experience with Finback and I have to say that although I can tell they're trying, this brew is just slightly above average. Flavor is there but its a bit murky. The color, nose and feel are there though. I'm looking forward to good things from these guys.

500ml bottle into shaker glass. Aggressive carb, fizzy light tan head faded very quickly. nice chestnut brown color with garnet highlights. Aroma is fantastic - nice malt/ toast/ melanoidin presence with strong fruity/ wine notes. Raison with dried apricot, and also some wood on nose. Flavor is fruitier with tart wine out front, then oak and a little brett c. Fairly clean sour character that balances well with brown base beer and wine barrel. A very nice sour that should age well.
