L: Pours a hazy yellow-gold on the darker side with a very large head. Very nice head retention and very active carbonation. More lacing than you’d expect with a kettle-soured beer of its strength.
S: Floral hops, some mild funk, a bit of wheat, and a lacto tartness. Unfortunately, the aroma on this one is extremely mild.
T: Piney and floral hops really take the forefront of this light ale, with a nice bright citrus character as well. The sour character is very restrained, adding only a moderate tart acidity that lends some refreshment to an already very drinkable beer. Hoppy, but lacking almost any bitterness. This isn’t the most complex sour on the market, but it’s quite drinkable and achieves what it sets out to.
F: Light body with creamy yet lively carbonation. Very quaffable feel overall.
Thoughts: Not the most impressive beer from Transmitter – I was hoping this would follow in the same vein as their W4 Dry-Hopped Gose, which was really well done – but I’ve still yet to be disappointed by them. More like a wild American PA than anything else, this beer is drinkable, has a nice mix of flavors and doesn’t let the sour character get away from it.
