Once upon a time back in March, I stopped by Kelsen Brewery and was handed a sample of this delicious brew...I’ve never been a big brown ale fan but like a hoppy beer, but not over the top...well they changed my mind forever! It all starts with the aroma once you pop the cap...roasted nut/caramel like, with hints of chocolate and coffee...wonderful foamy head that sticks around...it pours a deep rich dark brown...the taste is where it’s all at...roasted malt sweetness upfront, (refer to aroma for taste), but not too sweet...followed by a very fine, almost resin type hop takeover, with floral hints, that carries all the way to the finish...very smooth finish...outstanding quality and attention to detail went into this beer with lots of love...I’ve been drinking micro/craft beers since 2002 and this is one, if not the best beer I have ever put my lips too...and just like Lay’s chips, you can’t drink just one! So what are you waiting for? Seek out this beer if you want your taste buds to explode, you will not be disappointed...and that’s a promise from this guy!

A stellar brown ale. Pours a beautiful medium maduro wrapper brown with a light tan head. Nice lacing on the rinsed glass and 1 inch of head after being poured into a large stein glass from a 22 oz bottle.

Clean up front actually a light mouthful despite its color . Very fresh. More roasted nut and light carmel flavors than coffee for me. Very creamy and lingering finish. Creme brulee like? Good hop balance but slightly favoring the malt side. Perfect fall beer.

Not my favorite style of beer but one of the best in its class.

Stellar American Brown Ale. USOBC gold Winner and deservedly so. Doesn't thin out like a lot of browns and has great roasty, chocolate, and hop flavors. Complex!

Brown ale is a style that I don't choose first. This beer has changed my opinion. After 15 years of visiting my in-laws in New Hampshire, I finally found some micro breweries. At the suggestion of the bottle shop owner I grabbed a bottle of Paradigm Brown Ale.
Of the half dozen bottles purchased it was the first one cracked.
A bomber shared amongst four people, everyone had the same opinion. It was like no other brown they had tasted.
Incredibly smooth, beautiful head, great aroma, one bottle wasn't enough.
Chocolate, butterscotch, toffee, and hops.
Very well balanced. Very drinkable.
My only regret is not purchasing more.

Nanobrewery from Derry, NH. Having only been in existence for three months, this place is off to a stellar start! Erik and Paul are the owners, very personable and eager to talk about beer. Now on to this brew!

Appearance- Dark brown towards the bottom but lighter up top with a nice foamy head.

Smell- Dark grains, chocolate, coffee, toffee, hops, faint spice (clove, cinnamon). Perfectly in balance.

Taste- Just short of amazing, a little too much hop for the style though. Earthy notes and hops mingle with coffee, dark chocolate, a bit of hazelnut (very faint), and toffee. Feels nice and velvety on the tongue, very smooth.

Overall- A great addition to the local canon of craft beers. It is very unique, being one of the few breweries in the area to do a Brown Ale. Highly recommended!
