A-This place is a medium-sized bar near downtown on the now-hip Platte street area near Denver Beer Co. The vibe inside is college-like with Nintendos in the booths (literally, Nintendos with controllers and Super Mario posters behind the bar). On my Thursday night visit, there was a group function dominating the front of the room, so I sat towards the back at the bar. The stools were uncomfortable, but it was not a bad place to relax after work with a beer.
Q-My beer arrived in a nice glass with a little bit of head. The beer tasted like it was supposed to taste -- clean lines and clear glasses are always a plus. The quality of beers on offer was good, too, with a number of good, smaller, local breweries on tap and a few bigger-name craft labels on the list.
Ser-The bar tender was friendly enough, but not particularly helpful or willing to offer any extra knowledge about the beer. After we ordered, he was prompt; and he did not let us sit on empty for long before asking if we needed a refill. It was good service, just not memorable or great. He might have had more knowledge to share, but I didn't really ask, so take this score with asterisk.
Sel-There were roughly 15 beers on tap that ranged from light to dark. All were craft and most were local to Denver. It is nice to see some of the smaller breweries (e.g., Black Shirt) moving in with the better-known craft staples (e.g., Odell). A good variety of high-quality stuff.
V-The beers weren't necessarily cheap, but they weren't expensive, either. I guess prices were on the good side of reasonable for downtown.
O-A nice, if somewhat juvenile, watering hole near downtown.
