Got this growler from Mpbugeye in the Blind Beers 3 BIF.
Reviewed without any knowledge of the brewery, style, or beer...
Ok... So after struggling for 10 minutes with the excessive amount of duct tape, I finally got the growler open..,
Says pour I into a pint or a tulip... Glassware hint doesn't really help me...
So I cracked the growler open and poured into my Duvel tulip... And a glass for my wife into a pint glass. Hers looks better.
This has to be a big old monster of a DIPA. I like it. I like it a lot.
A strong rocky cap of foam leaves dry sticky veins of lacing-- like intricate webs-- down the side of the pint glass. Retention is quite strong. This is a glowing golden-orange color... Very lively and energized.
Nose is in-your-face grapefruit. Huge bomb of citrus hops. A little orange and tangerine hides beneath the grapefruit. Very little malt... But there is some sweetness still. That sweetness is dried up by the finish, which is clean and crisp.
I feel like I've had this before... This is damn tasty. Reminds me a bit of some of the Alpine IPAs I've had before. The body is light, well-carbonated, and prickly as hell. A good oily residue left behind coats my teeth-- nice.
This is VERY easy to put down. I will be pouring a 2nd glass right now.
So what is this one Seth?
Assuming it's a DIPA: (after finding out it is a regular, these numbers got a bump up)
And I ripped the paper open-- it's a Columbus Brewing Co growler... Seth has replied that it is in fact Columbus IPA.
Wow. This is killer. So damn flavorful. I would put this right up there with my top IPAs-- Jai Alai, Just Outstanding, and other world class IPAs.
Just a terrific beer-- better from the growler than the bottle, but even the bottle was pretty good.

Appearance: It has a nice hazy golden/orange color to it. It has a nice off-white head that dies down moderately slow and leaves some nice lacing.
Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of citrus, floral hops, piney undertones and sweet toasty malts.
Taste: Like the aromas, it has some citrus, light mango, bitter pine resins, floral hops and sweet toasty malts.
Mouthfeel: It has a low-medium carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.
Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied by good flavors and aromas.

12oz Bottle received in trade with mtomlins - thanks!
Appearance - Light copper colour with a large size off-white coloured head. There is an average amount of carbonation showing and there is some nice lacing. The head lasted for over 5 minutes before it was gone.
Smell - Hops, apricots, malts, melon, grapefruit
Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste apricot, grapefruit, and pineapple. There is also some malts, melon and lot of dry hoppy notes.
Overall - Lots of hoppy flavour and some malt to back up the rest of the fruity notes. This is my first beer from this brewer and it's very solid. Reminds me a bit of a better version of the flying monkeys smashbomb ipa available to me locally.

Enjoyed on tap from a 22oz pilsner glass. Honestly was not too impressed my first time having it but had much higher regards the second time around and here is the review..
A - Pours a dark orange/reddish-gold, 1 finger head, leaves white lacing around the glass with a slowly dissipating head that remains until the end.
S - Fresh hops, piney, citrusy. Very appeasing.
T - Taste follows the smell with fresh hops that are not as powering as the smell leads to believe. Very balanced for an IPA, not incredibly hoppy in the mouth but leaves a lingering hoppy after taste.
M - Feel is medium, not too heavy in the mouth, good mix of flavors and overall very drinkable.
O - Very enjoyable beer, I liked it much more the second, third, and fourth go around. Fairly unique for an IPA in its balance and drinkability. This one is easy to have a few of.
