Part of the local 6-pack sent from schwaeh, thanks Steve! Enjoyed in a Sam Adam Perfect Pint glass.

A: Pours a light honey golden color that's not quite transparent; chill haze?. The white head is soapy and recedes to a ring. Crazy good carbonation.

S: Nice banana/spiced clove scent with some distant orange zest; light bready malt, and the lager yeast has some distinct fruitiness, almost like a Belgian as I can almost get green apple.

T: Crisp and clean, floral and a touch sweet from the yeast. There are hints of lemon and spices.

MF: Feels like a lot of body for a lager initially, but finishes instantly and cleans the palette with a crisp carbonated finish.

O: Refreshing summer beer. I can see this as a beer that would attract a lot of attention when the temps start rising.

Thanks to Chris for bringing this to DE for me.

A: Pours an unfiltered golden color with a thick/foamy 1.5 finger white head. Nice retention and thick, sticky lacing left behind. Lots of carbonation bubbles released from the bottom.

S: Light floral and grass notes, some lemon, biscuit malt.

M: Light wheat, lemon and a bit of orange, and a bit of lager yeast. A little bit of peppery spice comes through as it warms.

M: Light to medium bodied with lively carbonation. On the dry side, but still crisp.

O: A nice summer lager, refreshing and easy drinking. Couldn't ask for much more. Its only fault is the dryness.

12 ounce bottle (2011 batch with new label). Served in a mug, the beer pours a hazy gold color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is grainy (wheat?) and sweet malt, citrusy hops (lemon peel), and a bit of grassy hops. Taste is similar to the aroma, it tastes mostly like grain/wheat/bready malt and some citrusy hops (lemon peel). Mouthfeel/body is light, it's crisp and easy to drink. I think it's a nice refreshing brew, a good choice for summertime. I can't believe I haven't tried this before, I might have to pick up some of this over the summer. Definitely worth a try.

Got this as an extra from Seth (mbpbugeye).
Served in my Sam Adams perfect pint glass.

A bright, clear, glowing gold. Small white head quickly becomes a tight collar of bubbles, leaving no lacing.

Smells of spicy hops and dry light malts. A nice lemony Curtis notes tags along as well. The beer is pretty dry, with some lemons, and spicy German hop notes.

This is good. Very easy drinking. Light body with effervescent carbonation.
Quite tasty and enjoyable. A perfect craft beer for a BMC drinker... And a good beer for a Ba looking for a nice summer brew.

A-hazy amber w/ slight head and decent retention/lacing

S-very lagery (if that is even a word)...lots of wheat and fruit (citrus)...some hops but not abundant

T-Good...can tell the beer is unfiltered...which I appreciate. The wheat comes through nicely...as another reviewer said...reminds me of GI 312 (though i prefer the summer teeth).

M-moderate/medium carbonation...very pallatable

D-I enjoyed the one I had...probably would (and did) switch it up after one...but could easily go right back for another. Not my top style of beer but I was at CBC last night and wanted to try it on draft...I was pleased.

Note- This was actually consumed back in September '10.

12 ounce bottle from Ryan011235, poured into a tall slender mug. Hazy gold with a bright white 1-finger head, scattered drippy streaks of lacing. Nice fresh aromas of husky grains and half-dried hay with a touch of floral sweetness, perhaps a touch spicy. No 'perhaps' about it come sippin' time, though; the noble hops take over right away. The momentary spicy and bitter sting are a great match for the crackly and crispy malt profile. Very clean finish with just a hint of bready aftertaste. Exceedingly quaffable.

Overall impression: Ryan, feel free to keep the CBC express rolling my way. These guys know their way around a brew kettle.

Not my favorite beer or style, but this turned out to be a really solid and quaffable summer brew by CBC.

Hazy golden yellow with a bubbly bone-white head.

Smelled doughy and zesty, must be made with wheat.

Taste is also of wheat, some lemon, and of those typical German yeast strains.

Mouthfeel is great, super carbonated, crisp, clean, goes down easily. Drinkability is super high too. I don't see myself wanting more of this any time soon, but were it offered to me I could likely drink a 6-pack on a hot summer day while out throwing the horseshoes.

Enjoyed this one quit a bit. Taste re minded me of their Pale ALE.Pretty cool label too!

Appeared somewhat dirty kinda like some English Pale ales you see, probably due to being non-filtered,wish more beers did this.

Smelled bready and grainy slight wiff of alchohol.

Tasted about the same as the smell with some buttery pretzels thrown in,really nice!

Mouthfeel was medium bodied and very pallatable.

Went down nicely, glad to of tried this brew!

Appearance: Cloudy and golden orange. Looks like a wheat beer.

Smell: Hints of orange, mild hoppiness (not over powering).

Taste: It tastes like a summer wheat beer. Similar to goose island 312.

Mouthfeel: Light and crisp

Drinkability: The name says it all. Its a summer beer. Great for drinking on the patio.

Serving type: bottle, poured into a Guinness style glass.

A- Super clear golden color with a sticky white head comprised of lots of big bubbles. There is tons of effervescence.

S- Weak, pale lager like nose. Cracker like malts matched with noble hops along with some yeasty spice and pepperiness.

T- Well balanced. Biscuits and honey, lemon-lime, grass.

M- Very, very, very, very dry. This is totally the most dry beer Ive ever had. Its light, carbonated, snappy and crisp. I like a dry beer but this is approaching too dry, if there is such a thing.

D- A very good summer lager. Anyone could pick this up and be able to enjoy it. It is clean and crisp but the intense dryness doesnt make it an overly thirst quenching one.

Poured into a pint glass from a 12 oz bottle. Appears a fairly clear golden color, with a little bit of haze. There is a thin white head that leaves a small amount of lacing.

Smells of wheat, and a slight hint of hops. Nothing that really stands out or is too overpowering. The taste is fairly sweet, honey maybe, as well as some floral notes with a decent amount of bitterness.

Great amount of carbonation, light bodied and nice and crisp. This is so easy to drink, goes down smooth and is definitely something I will buy again. Would work great at a cookout and definitely something I would say is sessionable. Another good brew from Columbus Brewing.

Bottle received as an extra in a trade with a generous BA thanks!

Appearance: Pours a translucent golden amber like that of the movie Jurassic Park! The crown is billowy, light beige, and about 2 fingers thick. Retention is strong and lace is everywhere.

Smell: floral hops and wet grass hallertau style hops combined with a pleasant citrus note that is not quite as bright as an orange but on the sweet acidic side....can't place it.

Taste: Now I'm getting that note I couldn't identify in the nose...bitter under ripe grapefruit. like licking the white skin on a peeled citrus fruit. Other than that the beer is pretty tasty!

Mouthfeel: Excellent carbonation, fairly crisp, but with a creamy crown! Body is a touch thick but still in the medium range.

Drinkability: Sessionable if it wasn't for the taste.

A- Pours a cloudy golden color with a thin white head that leaves the slightest bit of lacing.

S- A touch of sweet malt and lots of fruity floral aroma. A bit of spice as well.

T- Nice fruit flavor initially with orange and banana being the easiest to pinpoint. Some nice sweet malt grain flavor in the finish for an easy balance. A touch of yeast flavor and wheat are noticeable but the alcohol surely is not.

M- Light bodied with a crisp finish. Decent carbonation but maybe a touch on the high end.

D- Quite quaffable with a nice flavor.

Pours a deep golden color with with a large head and lacing. Appears to have some lively carbonation.

Faint smell of hops and wheat.

Nice smooth medium bodied lager with some grapefruit hops and balancing pale malt. Slightly syrupy sweet honey taste with medium carbonation.

Quite smooth and very drinkable with just enough hops to keep the BA crowd happy.

While I'm not really familiar with the beer style, this may be my new go to summer beer. Fantastic combo of smoothness, body, sweetness and bitterness. Home run for Columbus Brewing Company. This could truly be their crossover hit to the macro crowd.

Drank this from a 12 oz bottle, decanted into a pint glass. It's a pale golden color, small white head. Definitely a summer lager - smells cool, bready, touch of honey and grains. Not terribly strong. Taste is pretty clean - bready, little bit of honey, slight hop bitterness toward the end. Light mouthfeel - very appropriate. This is a great summer beer - easy to drink, goes well with all the summer foods.
