Poured vigorously from 32oz growler into brand new spiegelau ipa glass
A- vigorous pour with only about 1/2 finger of head, about normal carb for this abv. No lacing but a subtle ring around the glass follows with each sip. Golden yellow with no haze.
S- big grapefruit and overripe pineapple with some mango notes coming through as well. Hint of malt towards the end. Not really detecting the 10% abv.
T- tropical fruit up front with grapefruit and the overripe pineapple coming back from the nose. Then a nice hop bite without being overly bitter. Very slight malt notes on the finish with a lingering hop bite and the alcohol showing itself finally but only briefly.
M- medium bodied, smooth initially and then you feel the hop resins coat your mouth and linger for quite some time after the swallow.
O- very well done TIPA, usually a style I'm not a fan of because of malt sweetness and not enough hoppiness. This nailed it on the head for me, perfect hoppiness, little to no sweetness and the alcohol is hidden almost too well.

Consider this Bodhi's brother, this DIPA is a bit stronger and with more fruit flavor rather than pine. The smell and taste feature orange, mango, and grapefruit. Not overly sweet and with alcohol that is fairly well concealed, this does "creep" up on you. A bit more carbonation may have been better, but overall this is up there with the best DIPAs. Super flavorful.

Poured a hazy, golden yellow color with a white foamy/frothy head combo that left a very nice ring and lacing in the fat tulip glass.

Tons of hops on the nose. Mostly citrus.

Taste is almost all hops. More pine than I would have guessed, and way less malt as well based on appearance. Grapefruit, orange, and lemon rinds to me. Very, very bitter during and after. Noticeable alcohol and a little bit of a peppery note. Almost like a farmhouse. A nice dankness though.

Medium bodied. Average carbonation.

I am kind of confused by the amount of people noting it is a Triple IPA. Everything I have seen has it listed as a DIPA. I know we get hung up on the styles/definitions too much, but I would score it lower if comparing to other
triples I have had. This really just came across kind of harsh to me. Not nearly as balanced as Bodhi (or Hop Ju Ju and Chillwave for that matter). This is a seriously hoppy brew. I like it a lot, but I have had several better. I would take Bodhi alll day and its not even close.

Growler fill from Bottle and Barrel. Tulip glass. Less dank this year IMO.
