32 oz. growler filled last weekend, but unopened since, poured into a 20 oz. highball shaker.

A - Pours a very light, almost translucent pale yellow. A two-finger head of vanilla-white loose, fluffy foam sets up and then dissipates at a moderate pace, eventually leaving a thin sheen of a lace island. Held to a full-spectrum light, the beer is a pale, but bright, lemon-lime and a touch hazy.

S - Nice notes of floral and piney hops, mixed in a sachet. Underneath, hints of lemongrass poke through. Fresh resin in the background. As it warms a bit, the lemon becomes more noticeable and blended with the resin.

T - Piney and herbal hops on wheat crackers. There just enough malt, and it's pretty light, to support the hops, but they're what's featured in the taste. There's just a touch of lemon-drop sweetness and zest in the finish to contrast against the hops.

M - A bit fizzy and crisp. Moderate carbonation. Light body that seems disconnected from the hops, as if its underneath them, and the hops are frosting - lots of frosting. Gets a tad watery as it warms. Finish is pretty dry, and the hops tend to linger on the tongue.

O - This is a tasty summertime beer that will quench a thirst while allowing room for several. The touches of lemon in the taste profile compliment the hops pretty well. I'd like it more with a bit more malt up against the hops, but this works. Drinks a bit better on the cold side. Recommended.

On tap in a pint glass at the restaurant on 10/1/12

Pale gold with a nice, dulled appearance. The glass was filled to the brim, so the head was nothing more than wispy bubbles. Large bubbles cling to the upside top of the glass.

The aroma is very clean - hoppy but restrained. Juicy, tropical notions with grassy overtones. Not much malt comes through; very light on grains.

The taste is grainier than the aroma but both the hop and malt profiles are tight, crisp and clean. Juicy hops upfront with grass and a mild piney kick on the finish. Wheat starts peaking through as the beer warms. oat move in briefly before swinging back to a wheat-laden finish.

Light body with very modest carbonation. Clean finish makes for easy drinking.

a clever and really bright session beer. im not sure if its a wheat beer or not, despite the listing here. if theres wheat in this its real subtle, the beer is clear and has more of a two row barley profile than a wheat one in both taste and feel, but there might be a little in here, softening the edges and rounding out the grain profile. either way its basically irrelevant, and not just because of the low abv. the hops here are the primary flavor agent and dominate, the grain flavor is minimal anyway. big citrus here in the flavor, especially in the finish, grapefruit and tangerine. refreshing as they come, real light bodied, and clean in the finish with a lot less bitterness than expected for how prominent the hops are. well made beer, but i like the bodhi the best of their stuff so far.
