Clear gold color with a small white head. There was a bit of lace.
Aroma of citrus and pine, with some sweet malt.
Mostly grapefruit taste, a little pine. Not a lot of hop bitterness. Caramel backbone.
Nice, average IPA.

another very solid beer from these guys, not totally different from their double ipa. i was surprised to taste such a similar hop profile, but the beer is equally well done and quite a bit more drinkable. one thing abut it is there is really low bitterness, not much at all really, so the flavor of the hops lasts longer than in many where bitterness takes over in the finish. there is also just the exact right amount of residual sugar left in here to carry the hop flavors even further. i get citra for some, and something a little more in the pine family, but hard to place. notes of fresh lemons and spruce in the nose, less pungent in the taste, but very very drinkable because its so tempered and balanced. great carbonation really helps with this as well. my one critique of this beer, and of these guys in general, is an apparent lack of an experimenting spirit. they maybe at least B to B+ level beer across the board, but seem somehow content with it. i would like to see them push the envelope a little bit, and make some new recipes. this doesnt need much, its real tasty. but its not all that different from a lot of other good fresh local ipas around the country...
