An American twist on an English bitter, this is a light fruity beer that can be enjoyed at any time!
We substituted the traditional English flavor with our own unique blend of American hops. Note the initial taste of orange followed by just a hint of grapefruit.

16oz can shared with my brother
Extremely odd beer. Went in expecting an American pale and made a stink face on the first sip... after reading that it's supposed to be an ESB it tasted a little less 'off' but still weird. It tastes like a latex baloon, that's the best I can sum it up. Smell is nice, American hops over roasty biscuit malts. Each sip is different, but most are borderline unpleasant. Off-notes galore: gasoline, plastic, rot. ..But I'm making it sound worse than it is, because when it tastes good, its legitimately an excellent ESB. Let it warm a bit, and YMMV

Pyro pours a fizzy pale yellow color, with no head. Very sweet sugary aroma, but also chemically. Flavor is strangely bitter, with some very very sweet sugary orange notes, and a hint of grapefruit. Fizzy feel. Overall oddly sweet, off chemically flavors, very strange beer, might be worth a try, just not for me.

Appearance: Pours a completely clear, deep orange color with absolutely zero head. Zero head like it's not even carbonated. (3.25)
Aroma: Very different aromas. Strong butterscotch, popcorn, plastic candy flavors. It smells like a generic low quality fruity candy. Strong butterscotch with vanilla. (2.75)
Flavor: Some generic alcohol burn upfront. Turns into a plastic and vanilla warmth in the middle. Slight orange citrus in the middle. Has A whisky flavor that lingers on the tongue. (1.25)
Feel: Medium-bodied. Zero carbonation. Leaves a plastic flavor on the palate that gives me a headache. (2.50)
Overall: You don't know what you have until it's gone. Say what you want about your worst beer, and this will be worse. This isn't beer. I barely got through enough sips to get this review typed out. If you have it, drain pour it. If you see it at the store, do not buy this beer. (I usually give good ratings to beer so this is unlike me, but it's that bad. 3.75 is about my average... and this one Final Rating: 1.81)

L: pours brilliant gold under a 1" frothy white foam collar with poor retention
S: has a sweet scent joined by earthy sorghum, flowers and a light scent of hops.
T: sweet grain, a trace of fruit, a bitter middle and a bitter finish. The sorghum has an earthiness that barley does not have and this beer has a sharpness in the finish
F: medium light bodied and the carbonation is medium
O: This is a grain based alcoholic drink and it has a lot of beer character. The sharp bitterness might take some getting used to but it is an OK beer

Burning Brothers Pyro American Pale Ale, Naturally Gluten Free. Brewed and canned by Burning Brothers Brewing, St. Paul, MN. “Don’t Fear the Beer!” the can tells us.
Clear and golden-hued, with a short-lived white head.
Lightly hoppy nose, small citrus. Little lemon.
In the mouth, it’s got a bite. Sharp and crisp at the fore, clean and lean-bodied. Drinkable, but not especially pleasant. I must admit that I’m not well-versed in gluten-free beers, and I can’t tell how much beer-y flavors I should expect out of it, or how far this veers from how good a gf beer can be. I also have to admit that I heard bad things about it initially, and good things recently, but those were from he who gave me this sample.
This doesn’t taste like a true APA should, certainly not a good one. For a brew that by it’s very nature must miss the things I like most in a beer, it doesn’t taste terrible. If I became gluten-intolerant, I could tolerate it.
Time to share the gobbledygook: “Pyro Pale Ale centers on drinkability though a balanced American hop profile. Combined with gluten-free grains and yeast, this beer is an American revolution in brewing. No gluten in means no gluten out. There is no reason to “Fear this beer.”
I may have to try a few other GF beers to compare it against, but all in all, not bad.
