Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: Drtfinelli on 03-03-2014

The first release from Stoneface Brewing Co. is an aromatic, full-flavored pale ale. This beer is dry-hopped with Falconer's Flight 7C's hop blend, which provides a big, unmistakable aroma of citrus; it finishes with a slightly lingering bitterness.

This is what an american ale should taste like.

Consumed 12/14/14

A: Pours a peach color, golden tangerine hues - lightly hazy, pours with an above-average head, fades to a wispy cap and leaves a nice web of lacing

S: Light citrus, pale malts, and nicely clean - lightly fruity with orange, tangerine, and grapefruit juice, with lemon zest - floral with a hint of hop cones - decidedly crisp and clean smelling - pale malts and light bread

T: Bready, hoppy, and stupidly easy to drink - lightly tropical fruit and some citrus - orange, tangerine, grapefruit, and ruby red grapefruit - flesh, juice, and a touch of zest - floral - actually fairly balanced with some clean, bready notes - finishes clean

M: Medium to light body, nicely carbonated, very crisp and very clean

O: Straight to your face

I'm a sucker for this style. Perhaps "West Coast pale ale" may be appropriate here, as this is an easy drinking, hoppy pale ale, rather than an earthy, gritty American pale. This is so well-balanced, well-rounded, and stupidly easy to drink that I think I am actually more impressed than I was with Stoneface's IPA (which is also quite tasty).

A - pours a golden/orange with just a thin layer of head leaving some lacing

S - juicy, citrusy, fruity, hops. Lots of inviting, fruity smells from this one.

T - juicy and hoppy. Lots of fruity, citrusy hops. This has a nice malt backbone to it but the hops are the main attraction and come through strong.

M - medium carbonation and light bodied. This one goes down very easily.

This is a great pale ale with a big, juicy hop flavor. I prefer their IPA, but this one would be a nice choice for a hot day. These guys have proven they know how to make balanced, delicious hoppy beers.

S= Some light citrus hops and crisp pale malt. A little bit of grass.
T= Light hop flavors, citrus and tropical, bready malt. Very easy drinking and tasty, very balanced.
M= Moderate body and clean.

On tap at the source. Pours a slightly hazy light golden color. Earthy pine with bits of bread to back it up. Light tropical fruit especially in the nose. Nice pale

Poured from a 16.9oz bottle into a woodcock bros imperial pint.

Pours a hazy golden color with 1 finger soft white head that leVes lots of lacing all around the glass. Smell is dank pine and grassy hope with mild citric aromas. Taste is grapefruit, pine, grass, tangerine pith. Very drinkable with soft medium carbonation and medium body.

A very hoppy extremely drinkable pale ale from a great new brewery in NH. Any bit as good as the big New England pales and IPAs.

Beautiful looking pour into a cold tulip, cloudy, honey-colored, with a nice lush foamy head and good retention. Smell of grass and light hops. Taste is a nice, dry balance of malty and hoppy but... feel? There's something missing? Thin somehow but not watery. Still, overall, an excellent beer. I do believe I shall have another.

Love a tasty beer under 6% ABV... APAs are just great. The mix of the citrus aroma and bitter finish to this pale ale... is just so pleasant. My favorite APA used to be the Peeper Ale from Maine... this took its place in my book. Keep up the good work Stoneface...!

When this first came out i was impressed. I liked this more than their IPA. After a while of buying it frequently at a great price 5$, i found it to be a little inconsistent. I understand this could be due to the storage at the retail locations i've purchased from and/or how fresh it is. Really good beer. Try the ipa too. Their Red Rye is not my thing.
