Our most complex grain bill and moderate bitterness join forces to produce this bold, malty and spicy IPA. Dry hopped with a blend of American aroma hop varietals this is best consumed fresh.
Fun Fact: Originally brewed with Tyler Jones of Black Hog Brewing Co.

Purchased from a gas/beer store that is not the best of locations. Some old beer in stock and I wish to protest that Stoneface does not date their bottles- but this sample I assume was fresh ($5.95 16 oz brown bottle). I hear their cases are dated, but have never seen one. Poured beautiful with a thick, yeasty head that to me is the sign of a truly great beer. Taste is hoppy, with a bit more malt then the usual IPA. I actually found it more complex and just as good tasting as an IPA- which means this may be a go to style when available. After taste of a salty pretzel- like all great beers do. Will seek this out. Huzzah! Stoneface.

16oz can: This one pours a hazy amber color. There was a bit of a frothy beige head on it. Some lacing. It has a good nose. A nice mix of citrus and tropical hops. The taste is very good. Just a bit bitter and slightly dry in the finish. The taste is good. A bit of the citrus and tropical hops, but also a touch of rye and other graininess. Another very good brew from these guys!

Red with an orange tinge, too dense to see all the way through but you can see some active bubbling. Big two finger head that takes a while to settle, with some large bubbles (which I don't remember seeing before in other beers). Bottled 3 months ago. Strong smells of citrus and tropical hops. Tangy rye taste with some biting citrus hops. Mouthfeel is juicy and prickly, a little foamy. Overall, a good beer and seems to be a good representative of its type (which I've only had a few of).

Deep dark, reddish amber color. Enough carbonation to create a a very thick and chunky, khaki colored foam cap.
A spicy rye scented malt, very spicy and earthy. Roasted nuts, dark chocolate and spicy hops.
The flavor is very malt forward with a big, spicy rye taste. Earthy and spicy all over the place! Very heady malt forward and just enough earthy hops to make a decent balance with interesting depth. A very full bodied feel, pretty malty heavy feel, smooth finish. I like it when the Rye is big and spicy!
Pretty high quality stuff, excellent rye effect.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Deep chestnut brown and red body. An almost ruby like quality but a shiny brown that glows nicely before the dregs hit that make a nice chocolate paste. Fine and light khaki top, fluffy and an easy two to three fingers. Island retention and light top with big amounts of lacing.
Delicious aroma for rye and hop mix. Chewy and spicy mix on the nose for the malt, with a soft sweetness. Hop dense quality with a mild dank sweetness and earthy quality. Real nice complimenting malt and hop character.
Palate takes things down a bit. Light slightly wet body, with a washing spicy malt mix. Hop angle provides a much more unique angle bringing the dense character and making for a larger flavor of almost smoke and sweet dirt. Palate is a bit prickly and makes for a slightly distracting experience.
A much more decent rye brew than I've had before that's for sure.
