Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a modest dark khaki head that dissipates to a thin film with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, coffee, cocoa and a touch of vanilla. Flavor is dark toasted malt with moderate char, drip coffee, light cocoa and vanilla. Lingering coffee and malt char. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Coffee is the dominate flavor in this stout. A solid malt base that has a somewhat thinner mouth feel than expected for the size and flavor depth. Nice chocolate and vanilla flavors balance out the coffee. Coffee and the charry components of toasted malts really overlap in flavor and meld together well here too. A full flavored coffee stout with good supporting flavors and solid malt. Enjoyable. Glad this Far east coast bottle made it to Seattle.

Pours a rich near-black color with two fingers of dark khaki head. Decent retention before leaving thick, sloppy lacing.
Umami, molasses, vanilla, dark fruit, chocolate, coffee and alcohol mix in the full and complex aroma.
Watered down coffee and chocolate up front in the taste; definite vanilla; a sweet and spicy cinnamon-like element mid-palate; and hints of the umami and fruit in the finish.
Full bodied and slick feeling with slow-building prickliness.
Lots of depth to this, while still relatively easy-drinking, especially for the style. There is a definite spicy cinnamon character to this that’s almost peppery in a way; it lingers nicely in the aftertaste. Would love to try an intentionally “Mexican” version with some peppers and cinnamon added.
4/16 hand-written on the bottle.

There was a small light brown head that didn't linger long or leave any lacing. Good nose. Chocolate, some coffee, roasted malts, vanilla, maybe some plum. The taste is very good. A nice balance with both a little bit of sweetness and bitterness. Chocolate, faint vanilla, some coffee and roasted malts. Some dark fruits. A really nice imperial stout!

Smell doesn't do it justice. Looks dark and pours a somewhat thick viscosity, light head and lacing, but this is roasty and tasty AF. Love stoneface and this beer is a great representation of what they can do. LOVE LOVE LOVE their BA versions, but the regular is also a solid beer.
