500 ml bottle. Too much an English bitter for me.

Cask conditioned at the crown

Pours with a dark amber body, slightly hazy, creamy tan head (that alot of the whitewater stuff has), good retention and some lacing

Smell, nice malty nose, slight hint of fresh grassy hops

Taste, sweet and malty, some nice hints of esters, spicy, dry and bitter hop finish, slight hint of candied sugar almost like a dark belgian

A really great ale, i was very happy to find this and it didnt disappoint

Bottle (500ml from Tesco):
Copper with a foamy white head on top a couple of millimetres thick. This settles as a creamy looking lacing after a few moments.

Malty with some caramel and spice in there too. There is some biscuit and a few bitter notes but nothing too special of exciting.

Bread, a few malts and a bit of spice along with some plain, slightly sweet amlts. There is a lot of bitterness though and a rather plain flavour overall but I could detect a sort of slight herbal taste in the background.

Dryr with some spice and a medium body, There is slightly high carbonation and not a lot else.

An average, bitter beer overall with not a lot happening to keep me interested. It was plain but drinkable, if slightly too reliant on the malty smell and taste.
