A remarkably smooth dark beer that boasts roasted malt & coffee flavors accentuated by a hint of chocolate. Mt Hood & Fuggle Hops provide a dynamic bitterness to this beer that finishes dry.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a one finger khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, mild cocoa and coffee and a hint of vanilla. Flavor follows with dark toasted malt, mild cocoa, a hint of coffee. A little tartness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A mellow, straight arrow American style stout with light cocoa and coffee and some light hop bitterness.. A light tartness in the finish. Has some potential, but needs more malt depth and body. I liked the dry finish except for the light sour note.

From a can. Pours a deep red brown with about a finger of rocky tan head. The nose is sweet, coffee, spicy. Tastes cola-esque with coffee. Medium sweet for a stout. Thin bodied. Easy drinking and smooth, not the stout i expected.

Very dark brown. Thick, creamy tan head with decent retention.
Aroma of coffee and chocolate.
Taste follows the nose. Coffee, cocoa. Some late hops.
Dry finish with some nice hop bitterness.

A: The beer is very dark brownish black in color. It poured with a finger high frothy white dark beige head that died down but never completely faded away.
S: Moderate aromas of dark and chocolate malts are present in the smell.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of dark and roasted malts along with notes of chocolate.
M: It feels light to medium-bodied and a bit dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This stout is easy to drink and has a nice complexity between the flavors of the dark, roasted, and chocolate malts.

Huge khaki head, lots of lace, near black brown fluid.
Nose is full of bakers chocolate and mild coffee. Earthy hops.
Rich sweet and roasted malts. Molasses and burnt sugar. Dark brown bread. Mild but firm earth from the hips gives a clean dry finish
Medium heavy feel with a smooth carbonation. Satisfying.
A delicious and highly drinkable stout that always delivers.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) can into a conical pint glass; no production information, but purchased recently a Broken Bow Brewery.
A: Pours a very dark brown, almost black color with a greater than one inch, mocha head, excellent retention and spotty rings of lacing all over the glass.
S: Aromas of chocolate >> coffee and honeysuckle. Aroma not as big as the taste.
T: Sweet with a very prominant milk chocolate flavor. Cafe au lait in the background. Lactose style sweetness and a strong licorice note. Bitterness stands up nicely to the sweetness.
M: Medium to full bodied with excellent effervescence. Creamy - a real mouthful.
O: An excellent example of an American made stout, tasting more on the chocolate and/or milk stout style. Approachable and drinkable.

-the dark growler pour is a bit murky, but the nose is rich with cocoa. The flavor includes chocolate and raisins. There is a bitter note to balance the sweetness. This was enjoyable.

Didn't expect much from this one but was definitely pleasantly surprised.looks a bit thin but the smell made up for that, does have a slight dark fruitiness in with the malt and coffee but overall its a solid , if unspectacular, stout.

Solid Beer from Amazing Brewers. Malts and Cocoa kicking in... really good. I've had this can in my aging closet for like 4 months. No complaints. Would drink again in a 'broken heartbeat.

Agree with a previous review, the head lifted so much and so fast I wondered if it was infected as well. Thin, dark chocolate, and oddly enough a bit sour. Not a fan at first, I think I mistook the sour flavor for an off sort of metallic taste, but the further into the beer I get.. it's not terrible. Probably wouldn't buy it again though

I stand by my review. Absolutely fine and unknown stout. If you're in NY - must try it. Just above Yonkers.
A: Pours a dark chocolate black with thick tan head with foam ring and an decent dotty film and lace.
S: Smells of chocolate and malts with interesting candy - marshmallow accents.
T: Follows smell. Tastes of dark chocolate, with a core candy sweetness, and balanced by tobacco, wood char, and dark malts. Enough hops to balance. As a dessert beer, I give this a 4. (Biased by eating dark chocolate after a holiday weekend drive from beach...)
F: Medium, good feel, almost syrupy, but dry in the finale. Good night cap. I sought it out as a night cap another night after my first.
Overall - A complex, approachable, chocolate stout that is perfect with dessert or your night cap. (in my case dark chocolate with mint-blueberry-watermelon-lime salad on Labor day).
