This is a very, very, very bad beer.
On opening the can you get a whiff of fermentation by-products.
The colour is an attractive deep amber and it's sparklingly clear.
The aroma is mostly of diacetyl, with a little caramel and possibly a slightly roastiness. Dry finish. It is actually reasonably bitter, but has no hop aroma or flavour. Possibly this is why people think it a sweet beer.
Avoid like the plague.

Appearance: Amber; clear; huge head; long lasting; good lacing
Aroma: Roasted grain; slightly hoppy; butterscotch; slight grass
Taste: Very thin; not much flavour to talk about; pretty unimpressive
Remarks: From can
Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

500ml Bottle: BBD 26 July 2013, poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 7 June 2013. This is an old friend re-visited after a long absence.
Looked good in the tankard: brown with a russet red hue, on top a full and lasting white foaming head.
Semi-sweet malty molasses in the nose and taste with a crisp bitterness throughout. I remember it being richer and maltier back in the 'good old days' but it still has a pleasant feel to it, if a little calmer in character.
OK, but with reservations.
