Bought on the train from Aberdeen to Inverness. At best, a party beer: mass produced with all the industrial smells from the popped can opening, soda-like carbonation popping out the top like a coke. In a plastic cup, the yellow liquid is limp and sad as the carbonation fizzes out, leaving little head--or flavor--behind. I'm happy the company was good: oil riggers back on dry land after two weeks in the North Sea. Order something else if you can.

Appearance: Amber; clear; huge head; long lasting; good lacing
Aroma: Roasted grain; slightly hoppy; butterscotch; slight grass
Taste: Very thin; not much flavour to talk about; pretty unimpressive
Remarks: From can

500ml Bottle: BBD 26 July 2013, poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 7 June 2013. This is an old friend re-visited after a long absence.
Looked good in the tankard: brown with a russet red hue, on top a full and lasting white foaming head.
Semi-sweet malty molasses in the nose and taste with a crisp bitterness throughout. I remember it being richer and maltier back in the 'good old days' but it still has a pleasant feel to it, if a little calmer in character.
OK, but with reservations.
