I had a pint of this Brown ale when I stopped into the Rusty Bucket in Dublin, OH. Not a bad place, but the servers could use some beer training.
A: About a finger of sticky, cream-colored head sat on top of this clear, dark brown bodied beer. There was some modest carbonation visible in the deep brown. The head died down to a ring around the edge of the glass, which stuck for the first couple of sips while the beer was too cold.
S: Absolutely nothing...I get a "clean" smell out of this beer. I am sure that the temperature should be much warmer for this beer. About mid-glass there is a nutty malt character.
T: There is a mild malt character at first. No presence of hops, until the beer warmed a bit, when there was the faintest glimmer of hop in the aftertaste. The beer was too cold, and it completely stifled the flavors. It was only in the aftertaste that I was able to enjoy the nutty malts. With about 1/4 of a glass left, I was able to determine the well-balanced nature of this beer. However, the flavors are decidedly weak.
M: Light-medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation which gives it a smooth feel.
D: The lightness and smoothness also lend to this beer being more drinkable. It is not a complex beer, and by the end of the pint, I just wanted to be finished with it (bad sign). I would recommend drinking this at room temp or warmer.

Disappointing. It says Brown Ale, but it's not brown and you could have given me a Bud Light and I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference in taste.
Appearance was nice I had high hopes, poured a gorgeous deep ruby red/light brown color with a decent sized head.
Smell was disappointing. Malt and hops. Slight smell of wheat bread.
Taste was most disappointing at all. I taste literally nothing. It tastes like I am drinking soda water or beer water. Low carbonation makes it feel very thin and watery.
Overall this is bad. Won't be buying again won't be recommending.

Not bad. Not great. Tried this at The Patio restaurant. A bit surprised they carried this.
Appearance: Clear bottle made me suspect of how well it held up being “imported from England” but the distinctive yellow and crimson label is eye catching and inviting. The beer itself looks a bit more like soda than beer. The color is dark, chocolaty with definite deep red base though when nearly finished it had the color and translucence of bourbon. Head was creamy, inviting with decent retention.
Smell: It was difficult for me to pick out distinctive aroma in my serving of this barley and wheat brew though there was a definite ever so slightly sweet maltiness.
Taste & Notes: First wash over the tongue was pleasing and invigorating with a nice bit of bite. These types of ale promise to be sweeter though mine was not at all, more fizzy overall with no real after taste except for a slight bitterness. Though to say it had no body would be unfair, it definitely lacked fullness for me. Some reviews speak to a buttery character but my serving did not exhibit this. Probably more a bit dry, roasty toward the end.
Mouthfeel: Thin and soda-like.
Drinkability: Though not a great offering in my very humble opinion but solidly drinkable after a hard day’s work. However, it did not go well with typical fried appetizers but I’m thinking could add some nice dimension to fall/winter soups or stews. It may also cut greasiness of dishes such as roast pork.
