12oz bottle poured into snifter.
Appearance-pours red brown with very small light khaki head, mild carbonation. 3.25
Aroma-Carmel, hint of roasted nuts, some light brown sugar, nothing much going on here. 2.5
Taste-light roasted malts, roasted peanut, a little brown sugar, better than aroma but not by much. 2.75
Feel-light bodied, very watery, barely coats palate, aftertaste is brief, as drinkable as water. 2.5
Overall-Wow, I used to love this beer. Revisiting now is kind of eye opening, my palate has came a long way. This beer isn't horrible but its not anything other than beer to drink to get drunk. The flavor is better than most lagers but compared to other brown ales it is falling very far behind. Lots of other fish in the sea.2.75

12 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass.
A - Poured a very clear reddish copper color. Decent enough head that retreats to lacing.
S - Very pronounced European hop note with little malt aroma.
T - Bitter hops with some hint of malt.
M - Medium body with a dry finish.
O - I honestly thought I was drinking a Heineken that someone had colored brown. This really isn't what I expect from a Brown Ale - not say it was bad - just not what I expected.

500 ml can purchased from LCBO for $2.90 CDN. Served rather cold into a pint glass.
Appearance - Mostly clear brown beer with lots of bubbles. 2 fingers of head with only so-so retention. Red hues in the beer and some trace lacing.
Smell - Mild malts and some light grassy aromas. Not much else, and this beer was somewhat metallic smelling.
Taste - Light cherry flavors, Nice blends of caramel and toffee malts. Also some bready characteristics on the palate.
Mouthfeel - Smooth and rich and slight syrupy in the way the beer clings to the inside of your mouth.
Overall - A good beer, and very accessible too, but by no means a world beater or even something I'd regularly pick up.
